Grammy-winning rappers Kanye West and Jay-Z's Watch the Throne LP continues to evolve as new reports claim producer Bangladesh has now been recruited to contribute to the project.
While he has yet to receive confirmation on whether his track will make the final cut, Bang said he flew out to Paris to work with the iconic rappers.
"I was requested to come out there and just give a little insight on the album, give them a beat or two and add and create with 'Ye, which was a big honor," he said. "I been a fan of 'Ye since the first song he ever dropped...It's never a guarantee until that time comes, but the track I left [Kanye] with, he was very satisfied with...He really expressed that he loved the beat and he's ready to buy it. That's a good sign, but you never know at the end of the day. I don't really talk about stuff until it's signed, sealed and delivered." (MTV)
Yesterday, reports emerged online suggesting singers Beyonce and Bruno Mars would appear on the project.
If you thought "H.A.M" sucked and thought that Watch The Thronething wasn't happening anymore, think again. Kanye West and Jay-Z are preparing for "Lift Off," the first single from their highly anticipated long-awaited collaborative album, and have snatched up Beyoncé and Bruno Mars for the Jeff Bhasker-produced number impacting radio and your iTunes music library sooner than you think. Yeah, that definitely explains the random trips to Paris. (Complex)
Producer Young Guru provided fans with an update on the LP in March.
"Right now, I'm really trying to get Jay and Kanye to hurry up and finish this Watch The Throne album because the world needs to hear it," Guru said in an interview. "It just needs little tweaks and things like that. But the core of the album is finished...Kanye takes what [contributing producers do] and adds on to it and I think that's his genius. I say this all the time 'Kanye records are never the same twice, while he's making them because they always grow." (VIBE)
Last November, hip-hop pioneer DJ Premier sat down with SOHH and talked about contributing to Jay and Yeezy's new LP.
"H*ll yeah, I'm excited to be a part of anything and I love working with Jay," Premier told SOHH about getting aboard Watch the Throne. "I wish I was on Blueprint III, but I got on board really too late and he couldn't make it in time but I just saw Jay the other day and we kicked it...It's fun to create something that you know they're going to spin on, I dig deep with every artistI work with." A release date for Watch the Throne has not yet been announced.
