With Big Sean's long-awaited G.O.O.D. Music debut nearing release, SOHH recently hit up fellow Detroit-bred emcee eLZhi to get his take on the Motor City rap newcomer.
Admitting he is a fan of Sean, eL said there are plans to come together for a collaboration.
"We done kicked it out in L.A. together and he pulled me out on stage and introduced me to 'his' audience of fans who might not know who I [am]," eL told SOHH. "It's much love to him. He's a real cool brother and I definitely like what he's doing. I let him know numerous amounts of times that I've seen him out there [and] I like what he's doing. What's crazy is [rapper] Mike Posner is trying to get me and Big Sean on a record together. So once everybody is free and able to do that, we're gonna jump in the studio and knock that out. It's just a matter of timing. I got with Mike Posner [about a month ago] and he said, 'Let's make it happen.' Everybody is definitely down to do it, we're just trying to figure out when the time's right." (SOHH)
Not only respected by eLZhi, rap veteran Lil Kim recently co-signed Sean's music.
"I almost listen to everyone's music. I'm really loving Wiz Khalifa. I like him a lot. I think he's a dope artist. And also another up-and-coming artist, his name is Big Sean. I think he's hot. There's a lot of pop artists I love. I love rock 'n' roll music. I love all types of music. Usher, I'm loving him again. Not to say I stopped loving him, but at one point I didn't understand the direction his music was going in, but I am in love with everything he's doing now." (Rap-Up)
Sean's Finally Famous debut album is slated to drop at the end of next month.
According to Amazon's website, Big Sean's G.O.O.D. Music debut Finally Famous: The Album has been pushed back a week to June 28. The album is set to feature Kanye West, Pharrell, Wiz Khalifa and tentatively, Nas. (Complex)
A few months ago, Sean opened up about the album's title and its significance.
"The title as of now is gonna be called Finally Famous," Sean said in an interview. "I may at the last minute add a subtitle to it because that's also the name of my mixtape series I did. That's something I really wanna brand as a lifestyle because that's what I believe in. When you're famous you're recognized for doing something, and I always put finally in front of it because I feel like this sh*t's what we've been grinding and working for all these years, and that can relate to anybody. As far as production majority of it was done by No I.D. which I feel is not even fair because he's just so d*mn good and he's such an O.G. and he's seen music come full circle. He really has a great perspective on music and is definitely one of my mentors." (XXL Mag)
Finally Famous is currently slated to hit stores Tuesday, June 28th.
