Renowned producer Dallas Austin has teamed up with Boost Mobile and MetroLyrics.com to offer aspiring artists an opportunity to win a shot at fame and $10,000 for their wallet.

Impassioned musicians looking to take their career to the next level will finally get the chance through their "Be Heard" contest.

The Be Heard contest is a call out to find today's hottest unknown Hip Hop/R&B artists through MetroLyrics.com and brought to you exclusively by Boost Mobile. Thanks to Boost Mobile artists have a chance to Be Heard. The contest is focused around artist video submissions (original songs only & includes a basic profile page about the artist), social sharing and crowd-sourced voting at MetroLyrics.com/ BeHeard.php (Press Release)

While there can only be one winner, runner-ups will not go home empty handed.

Following a 7-week total submission & voting campaign period (May 2 - June 20 over three stages) the top contestant, with the highest vote count, will win US $10,000 (paid by MetroLyrics), a song produced with Dallas Austin at his Atlanta studio (travel at winners expense from his/her prize money). Additional prizing for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers receive a Beat Thang Beat by Dallas Austin (mobile music production device valued at $1,500 each). (Press Release)

Austin's longevity in the music industry spans over three decades.

Producer/songwriter/keyboardist/remixer Dallas Austin's credits include Monica, Boyz II Men, Madonna, After 7, Michael Jackson, DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince, Aretha Franklin, and Brand New Heavies, among others. He also recorded as a member of Highland Place Mobsters, appearing on the movie soundtracks of Boomerang and White Men Can't Jump. (All Music)

In 2008, Austin teamed with Universal Motown to produce a solo album.

The Grammy- winning, Atlanta hit maker will provide fans with a mixture of his signature beats for the debut, along with cameos from artists like George Clinton, Goodie Mob's Big Gipp, Novel, Colin Munroe and others. With Austin's long track record of hit singles, major record label Universal Motown has decided to team up with the producer for his forthcoming album. "Dallas is a true innovator and a visionary," Universal Motown President Sylvia Rhone said in a statement. "He has put his unique stamp on an extraordinary array of hit music over the past two decades. So it comes as no surprise that his long-overdue solo debut is a brilliant, groundbreaking project that crosses boundaries, both musical and visual, to tell a compelling real-life story." (SOHH)
