Pulse Report: Nas Turns Into A Shook Son, Lil Kim Brings The Quiet Storm, Odd's Future Looks Demented

Written by Bulldog Butterworth

In this week's Pulse Report, Nas gets shaky over his competition, Lil Kim finally gives up on rap beefing...and wins, Odd Future's future looks brighter than Earl Sweatshirt's and oh SOHH much more!

1. Shook Ones, Part III

Now I know I discuss sports and politics in here, doggies, so some of y'all may or may not get it. But one example I gotta use comes from a few years ago when Miami Heat basketball star Chris Bosh was on the Toronto Raptors and admitted how nervous and scared he was about playing the New Jersey Nets in the first round play-offs. SMFH. Never open yourself up, doggies, never! Long story short, Bosh got exposed as a shook one and they ended up losing the series. So why won't Nas learn from these things? LOL. I can't knock the doggy though, he's been making bad decisions ever since he said f*ck Hot 97 and then ended up hugging Funkmaster Flex six months later. LOL. Peep what I'm gonna show y'all doggies and judge for yourself.

"I'm happy about music, it's pushing me back into the studio. I just love what's happening [in music]: I love Odd Future, [Lil] Wayne, Drake, 'Ye [and] Rick Ross. It's something that threatens my position. Or it makes me question what I'm going to do next. What kind of impact do I want have now that I've been in the business this long. It's a challenge, it's scary even. But I'm very comfortable. I'm excited to see what comes out of me... I'm ready." (The Juice)

^ LOL. One thing I learned from Michael Jordan is that if it takes some outside motivation to get you working, then you should just quit. Bottom line? Nas hasn't put out a solo album since 2008, and don't get carried away with that Damian Marley project from last year either. LOL. Why does it take artists like Odd Future, Weezy and Drizzy to get your a** back recording? Personally, I think it's jsut bullsh*t and he's coming up with some fly sh*t to say in an interview. The fact that they're making you question yourself and move to their speed? WTF? I gotta use Jay-Z as an example. Listen to that Blueprint III, there was no Weezy types of records on there, there was no jacking other doggies' flows, either.

But if that wasn't bad enough, this doggy is really shook b/c he's giving up on....the LOST TAPES 2!?!? LMFAO! Let's be honest, did any doggy really want to hear what didn't make Distant Relatives? SMFH.

"When I released the other Lost Tapes, I was at Sony," Nas explained in an interview. "Being at Sony for so long, I was used to things going easily -- with Def Jam, I'd just gotten there, so I'm still in my Sony ways, like 'Yeah, this record is going to come out this time and I'm going to set up from that. Then a few months later I'm going to drop this ... ' But they're like 'We just started working together so we can do this but wait. Maybe we should do it like this?' I wasn't used to that and then there was no communication at all and I really wasn't used to that -- with Sony, I wasn't used to a lot of communication, we understood what we were doing...We don't have to sit around. With Def Jam, it was more 'Let's sit down and have tea.' I wasn't used to that and it kinda messed up my flow. The timing for [the compilation] is gone, now it's just all about the new record." (MTV)

^ SMFH. Y'all already know how I feel when doggies start blaming their record labels for their sh*t. Saying Def Jam's business tactics/plans forced the sh*t not to drop? SMFH. And wait, how the h*ll is the timing gone when it's a compilation of UNRELEASED MUSIC?!?! LMFAO!!!!!!! Get the h*ll outta here, doggies! LOL! This doggy is really delusional and back to just making up wack a** excuses for his faults. But the biggest issue I had....SMFH....this doggy really thinking he has a style that's getting jacked? Please, this is beyond "STFU" Honors!

NasDrake, Nicki Minaj, Kanye West & Jay-Z

"I like to stay doing me," Nas said. "I think the style is timeless. I hear it in a lot of people and it reminds me how timeless it is, the kind of style I do. And once I hit it, and it's right, it's golden. If I'm a little off with it? Ahh, I can't even listen to the song ever again. I'm just trying to perfect it so that it's right and it doesn't sound like I'm just doing something I [already] did. It feels fresh; like this is the first time I'm ever doing it." (MTV)

^ Y'all be the judge. LOL. Bottom line, Nas knows no doggy is f*cking with him these days until he brings out some hard sh*t. Distant Relatives lost doggies' interest, Kelis straight up Ginger'd him and now Nas is just a lost doggy. Come on Doggy's Son. WTF?

2. Hot Damn H*e, Here We Go Again

Doggies, it was only a matter of time before Lil Kim finally admitted defeat in her beef with Nicki Minaj and decided to go to another genre. LOL. But I mean, Keyshia Cole, d*mnnnnnn. She feel just as hard as Kim did, right Kim? LOL. Nah, let me stop bullsh*tting. But for Kim to take her problems to R&B? LOL. Well, in all fairness, Keyshia did set Kim up to start up some bickering, which I think was the bait, and then they went at each other's necks. So y'all know how we do when the Twitter beef pops off. We gotta peep the play-by-play. LOL.

Lil KimKeyshia Cole

So, Keyshia Cole says...

N while we're addressing everything, Lil Kim and I a r not "friends" I take that term very seriously. We made wonderful music. That is it.
@lilkim_movement all good babe. No disrespect. Just real talk.

....Oh sh*t! Lil Kim ain't feeling that and says...

@keyshiacole U got that right. We are not friends. The same way U take friendship seriously i take loyalty serious.
@keyshiacole The whole world has seen me extend my hand to u over and over again.
@keyshiacole Only someone who's trying to build a sincere relationship does shows 4 free & supports. u did not pay me a dime 4 none of that.
@keyshiacole That warrants some type of loyalty and respect.

D*mn, Keyshia Cole, you really gonna take that? So Cole says...

@LilKim Kim that was a gr8 look 4 I coming out of jail just as it was a gr8 look for missy to have produced it.
@LilKim all I'm saying is don't have everyone thinking I was disloyal as a "friends" cause we were never that and u know it. No disrespect.

I mean, d*mmmmmmmmn, Kim, watch out now? And so Kim responds...

@keyshiacole Friend or no friend i would have never let anybody disrespect u on my record but i can't expect everyone to be as real as i am.
@keyshiacole At the end of the day karma is as real as i am and it's coming to get u. oh wait...if it hasnt got u already...
@keyshiacole My love & loyalty to u got u a hit, ur friendship with ur friend got u a flop.
@keyshiacole looks like u need to choose ur friends more wisely dont u think? #teamlilkim LEGGGGOOOO
@keyshiacole Loyalty and respect has nothing to do with friendship...BOOM

Wow, you might have Kim killing herself, Cole! But wait, so Cole says...

I don't have beef with anyone. I'm done. I feel the way I feel about friendship and loyalty. I ain't never been fake. All I'm saying.
Now I will be going they my tweets so I can block out the haters. Life is about blocking all u haters anyway. Don't need you following me.

D*mn, white flags waving! D*mmmmmn, Kim gets that W and says...

@keyshiacole Loyalty and respect is about returning a kindness. Have you ever came out and supported me at my shows? i dont think so.
@keyshiacole Yes it was a good look for me but it was a great look for u. At the end of the day it was a hit on YOUR album.
@keyshiacole Sticking 2 the situation. Again I would have never let anyone disrespect U on my song. That's loyalty & respect. End of story.

SMFH...it took Cole quitting for Kim to win, and yet, for some reason....she kinda still loses, right doggies? LOL.

3. Doggy of the Week: Odd Future

LMFAO. Doggies, this has to be a first but why the h*ll not? Y'all know it would have happened sooner or later but the award for "Doggy of the Week" this week goes to none other than those wacky a** Odd Future doggies. LOL. I just don't get why they're called a group when all we see is Tyler the Creator and Frank Ocean. SMFH. Anyway though, the past seven days have been a great seven to say the least for them. Tyler's new album dropping, Tyler sh*tting on Bruno Mars, Tyler getting arrested, LMFAO. But then Earl Sweatshirt coming out...in a suspect a** letter? LMFAO!!!!! Doggies, too much sh*t went down for me to try to sum it up and get y'all's lips wet. Pause. Make a round of applause doggies, b/c this was one h*ll of an Odd week to say the least. LOL.

1. I Got Busted By 5-0, Doggies

"All me and this dude did was skate past, uh, I guess it was a cop there we skated past," Tyler said in an interview. "And they just came up to us all aggressive like, 'Who are you?' and got out of the car. And I'm like, 'Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Why, why? What do you need?' I know he's grabbing my arm saying, 'Oh, you want to be a tough guy.' When I'm around cops, I get really, really deviant and sarcastic." (Hot 97)

SMFH. Doggies, I won't even bullsh*t y'all. I thought that whole police arrest was bogus as h*ll. LOL. I mean, come the h*ll on, it's all about selling records and what I learned from this interview was that Odd Future really doesn't give a f*ck about sales and selling out to get some fame. LOL. They'll literally take to that street team sh*t and get their a**es busted by 5-0. LMFAO. That's some real G sh*t there.

2. F*ck A Bruno Mars-Type Doggy

"I mean, it wasn't really a diss on my behalf," Tyler said referring to his jab at B.o.B. on "Yonkers." "I just hate the f*cking song. Yeah, the airplane song. I'm just gonna keep it a hundred. It's not a beef or anything, it's whatever. [Bruno Mars?] Oh dude, I hate that guy. Have you seen his face? You don't want to hit him?" (Hot 97)

LMFAO!!!!!! "You don't want to hit him?" *DEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!*

3. My Sh*t Flopped & I'm Still Hot Doggies

tyler-the-creator-2011-03-23-300x300.jpgTyler The Creator (Goblin)

Odd Future leader Tyler the Creator's Goblin opened at No. 5. With seven days in the books, his sophomore album has shelled out 45,500 records. (SOHH Sales Wrap)

^ SMFH. Doggies, is it just me or does Tyler the Creator flopping not seem like a big deal? LOL. I mean, doggy ONLY sold 45K, WTF??!!? Hasn't Odd Future been the biggest sh*t out since Wiz Khalifa? But for some reason, him selling a sh*tty amount of LPs is kinda.....cool? WTF?!

4. We Don't Believe You Doggy

Odd Futureearl-sweatshirt-2011-05-16-300x300.jpg

Heathcliff Berru, the group's longtime publicist, told XXLMag.comthat he doesn't believe the comments actually came from the OFWGKTA lyricist, but instead were written by the 17-year-old rapper's mother. "With them on tour [Odd Future] don't want to talk about it," he told XXL, "but it makes me wonder if that was Earl speaking or his mother speaking on his behalf. [New Yorkerscribe] Kelefa [Sanneh] never technically had direct communication with Earl. All I know is that doesn't sound like Earl. My only thought is for his safe return." (XXL Mag)

Now I don't know about y'all doggies, and for the rest of y'all that are complaining about me not putting up Earl's alleged "letter," too d*mn bad, look at the SOHH archives, LOL, but I'm siding with HB here too. WTF? I've heard about treatment centers but the fact that this mysterious a** letter came out defending his parents and asking for a cease and desist? LOL! I've seen a lot of "24" shows and if I learned one thing from that whole bullsh*t Solar/Guru saga, it's that bullsh*t is usually associated to statements. SMFH.

5. We Got Them Co-Signs, Doggy

NasOdd Future

"I'm happy about music, it's pushing me back into the studio. I just love what's happening [in music]: I love Odd Future, [Lil] Wayne, Drake, 'Ye [and] Rick Ross. It's something that threatens my position. Or it makes me question what I'm going to do next. What kind of impact do I want have now that I've been in the business this long. It's a challenge, it's scary even. But I'm very comfortable. I'm excited to see what comes out of me... I'm ready." (The Juice)

Even though I don't really dig God's Doggy that much these days, bottom line? Nas f*cking co-signed you. Yeah, he may have sh*tted on doggies like Qu'an and folded with them Bravehearts, but to have a doggy as respected as Nas saying he f*cks with you? D*mn. That's big. No bullsh*t, doggies.

BONUS: Doggies Ain't F*cking W/ Us, Well, F*ck It

^ LMFAO!!!! These doggies just won't go away! LOL!!!

4. Mrs. Butterworth: Jessica Aedo

Doggies, if y'all know anything about basketball, then you know the New York Knicks have always hated the Chicago Bulls. But for the past few years, a team we've hated even more than those Bulls are the Boston Celtics. Cocky, arrogant and with too much d*mn luck with their game-winning shots. LMFAO. With that being said, I had to pay homage to those bum a** Miami Heat for knocking them on their a**es and doing what my Knicks were SUPPOSED to do. With that in mind, y'all, I had to bring it to South Beach and put out a quality Mrs. Butterworth. LOL. Not like last time. LOL. Doggies, them Bulls might be fighting the Miami Heat right now, but all us Knicks fans are laxing back just like Jessica Aedo. LOL. Don't knock the wack a** bio, it's the only one I could find, doggies! LMFAO.

Jessica AedoJessica Aedo

^ LOL. D*mn, I might have to take my talented a** to South Beach as well, doggies! LOL. Making up for last week's lack of videos, y'all know I had to come correct like a porn star for y'all. Enjoy!

5. "STFU" Honors

They did it again, doggies. One doggy, two doggy, three doggy, four, five doggies, no more doggies, put those doggies on the floor. LMFAO. Nah, I won't even lie though, doggies, this week's "SHUT THE F*CK UP" Honors ain't as bad as I thought it could have been. I mean, Lil Wayne saying he's packing a surprise into Tha Carter IV? SMFH. How about we finally get it in stores, first, doggy? Then you got Chingy saying he used to spit that hot fire on the underground scene? LMFAO!!! Even worst than all them doggies is that Carrie Keagan chick talking about sex in the morning? LMFAO!!!!! Doggies, y'all can quote this, NO SEX BEFORE SUPPER! LOL! One of the funniest sh*ts I read though was Canibus waving the white flag at Slaughterhouse. SMFH. WTF? Last but not least, Bow Wow saying he hates.......RAPPERS THAT ACT!?!?!?!?!? SMFH!!!!!!!!!! Doggies, it's been seven long a** days, but welcome back to..."SHUT THE F*CK UP" Honors!

1. Lil Wayne

Lil Waynelil-wayne-carter-iv-cover-2011-04-20-300x300.jpg

During the concert he also treated the hundreds of fans who packed a soundstage at Sony Studios to a track off his highly anticipated disc, "Tha Carter IV," with a performance of "Nightmares of the Bottom," where he reflected on his troubles -- with a bit of humor. He's tight-lipped about the disc, which was pushed back to a June 21 release, but did offer a cryptic teaser when asked about it. "Just know that I have a pleasant surprise. A very pleasant surprise for this album when it comes out," he said. "I'm only doing this for the fans. Which I do every ... thing for."

2. Chingy

ChingyKRS-One

"What a lot of people don't know is I used to be an underground battle rapper. That was all in my younger days. As I prospered and grew up, I started to recognize and say, "How do these people get their music played on the radio?" That was back when I was 15 and 16. And then I learned you had to have a certain type of style of songs in order to get your music played on the radio. Whether it be commercial or catering to certain different types of things.

3. Carrie Keagan

Carrie Keegan (Drake & J. Cole)Condoms

"Morning sex is the best and I'll tell you why," Keagan assured SOHH. "There's something kinetic and maybe possibly frantic or even sloppy about night time sex because usually it's after dinner, you've been out all night, you've been dancing, you've been eating, you've been drinking, you're sweaty, and you kind of clumsily fall into bed and you might have good sex, whatever. But you wake up in the morning and it's a calm and cool way to start your day. That's the beautiful thing, if you get it right when you wake up in the morning, your senses aren't even working yet, you just fall into it. It's a beautiful moment, it's calm, you don't even have to make out. There doesn't even have to be a lot of kissing, it's just a lot of spooning going on. And if that's the way you're waking up, come on, can you think of a better way to start your day?"

4. Canibus

"Royce said it himself, Joey said it himself, 'Yo, yo, Canibus was so good,' and he was this and he was that and the third -- I heard that part. If they'd have said that and left it there, you never would have heard no response from me," Can said in an interview. "So, you know, I just wanted to put that out there, 'cause it's important for them to know that...Listen, all in all, I want to see them win. I want to see Slaughterhouse win. And I've proven that, in spite of my response to the flagrant disrespect coming from all sides about my craft and my ability as an emcee. I'm not a hater, and I'm not looking for attention from them or any of their followers."

5. Bow Wow

Bow Wow & TupacJust Wright

"I'm always looking for a role that's a challenge," Bow Wow said in an interview. "I hate when I'm watching rappers in movies, because it pisses me off when I see them still being the rapper and I try to stay away from that. Anything that's a challenge is something that I up for. Nobody knows this, but the craziest thing that I did not do was 'Big Mama's House 3.' They wanted me to be the role that Brandon T. Jackson played, but I passed because I was scared of that sh*t. I feel like I'm ready to take my career to the next level, but it's all about making the right decisions and I feel like I made the right decision by not making that particular film. It's kind of like, if a role is not fit for you and you'll know if it's not because you'll just have that feeling once you read it, and that's how I felt."

***Doggies, call me a whining of a doggy b/c the days in-between these NBA PLAY-OFFS is really on some bullsh*t. I mean, waiting four days for a Game 3? WTF? Anyway though, I ain't here to complain doggies, besides a sh*tload of rain that's hit the region over the week, the weather is getting better, kind of sticky, but better to say the least. Word on some blogs and my religious neighbors is that tomorrow will be Judgement Day, LOL, so for all the doggies still with me on Tuesday, May 24, y'all will have a shot at a Cap Diss PRIZE. Matter of fact, there might be two weeks of contests, so stay on top of the ball and keep them disses coming. LOL. Aside from all that silly sh*t, enjoy the weekend doggies and have some fun! Catch the un-holy doggies on Tuesday! LOL. -BB***
