G-Unit leader 50 Cent is far from done recruiting artists to contribute to his forthcoming Before I Self Destruct follow-up by clocking in some studio time with Soulja Boy Tell Em.
According to Soulja, he provided 50 with multiple tracks which could possibly land on the LP.
"We were in California [last month] and 50 played his whole album, what he got so far," Soulja said in an interview. "He was asking me for some beats, so I played some beats, gave him some beats. He's got some tight beats from me too. I left him like five beats in California and he's been recording on them...That's true. He has some soul and he has people singin' the different hooks...But he's smart though. It's still 50, but it's on another level now. You know where he comes from...His album was kinda dope. I ain't gonna lie to you. That's my big bro and all that. I got love for him. He's got some good stuff on there." (Rap-Up)
Last month, Soulja Boy revealed 50's advice to not consider retiring but to keep grinding out music.
"[I stopped Twittering when my sales came back because] I just needed to take a break. I needed to think about things. I needed to evaluate my camp and what was going on in my circle. I had to talk to my family, the label, and my management. I had a big talk with the big bruh 50 Cent. I'm going to forever thank 50 because he guided me. When I was at my lowest point in my career and I just felt like I ain't really want to do this music no more. I was like, 'Man, I'm still young. I made enough money.' My head was on a whole different radar, but he was like, 'Man, you tripping little bro. You've got to keep it going.'" (Complex)
A few days ago, 50 described his upcoming album as a revamped version of 2003's Get Rich or Die Tryin'.
"I been working hard my album its almost done. I took my time now every body's gonna hear 2011 GET RICH OR DIE TRYING. The meanest sh*t," he tweeted May 11th. (50 Cent's Twitter)
50 recently detailed his interest in snagging G.O.O.D. Music's Kanye West to assist with the LP.
"The usual suspects. I want to get with Kanye on this album. See if we can come up with something," 50 revealed in an interview. "I didn't work with [Dr.] Dre yet. I wouldn't hold my project up for [Dre production], but I want to get in to do it. It's always a process. I also worked with Swizz Beatz on this one." (VIBE)
A release date for the album has not yet been revealed.
