Exclusive: PETA Picks Pets For 50 Cent, Kanye West, Nicki Minaj & Jay-Z

As celebrity continue to gain statuses just as large as their famous owners, SOHH recently hit up animal rights group PETA to find out which animals would make the best furry pals for hip-hop's biggest stars.
PETA spokesperson Megan Rondeau played matchmaker for Kanye West, 50 Cent, Nicki Minaj and Jay-Z.
"For Kanye West, I kind of associate him with a bear, like a teddy bear, because he's got them on all of his albums with the artwork," Rondeau told SOHH. "So I'd have to say a bear for Kanye West. With 50 Cent, I envision him with a bulldog, maybe. Like an aggressive dog. After the outfit Nicki Minaj wore at the Grammy's, I would definitely say some sexy leopard cat. I think of Jay-Z as hip-hop royalty. I kind of feel like he's larger than life. I would have to say a lion, kind of the whole 'King of the Jungle' thing. I would say a lion for Jay-Z." (SOHH)
Last summer, 50 Cent publicly revealed his pet dog, Oprah.
That's right, sometime around one in the afternoon yesterday, Fiddy officially ran out of things to occupy his time, as that's when the Twitter page for Oprah Winfrey (OprahTheDog) first leapt to life. Oprah, you see, is the rapper's dog (with the Twitpics to prove it) and while the pooch seems to share its owner's affinity for foul-mouthed smack talk, the whole of her ire seems directed to 50 Cent, sparking one of the more bizarre Twitter feuds, well, ever, and one that's no doubt sent Freud rolling over in his grave. In delight. (E! Online)
In February, rapper Waka Flocka Flame credited his pet for encouraging him to join a PETA campaign.
"I don't want anybody to beat my dog, scare my dog or whip my dog," he tells RumorFix exclusively, adding that he thought PETA was the perfect group to work with after spending sometime researching them. Our staff was the only media outlet allowed to shoot behind-the-scenes video of Waka's photo shoot. The rapper, known for the hit song "No Hands," stripped down naked for the PETA cameras, but our cameras were only allowed to capture the G-rated version of the shoot. Waka was wearing little more than his famous "Waka" gold necklace and other chains that were the target of a botched armed robbery attempt on February 16 in Charlotte, North Carolina. When asked what he thought about people wearing fur, he joked, "It's nasty. We don't do that! Ink not mink!" (RumorFix)
After being targeted by PETA last year for rocking a fur, Kanye West lashed back at the animal rights group via his blog.
"SINCE BARACK IS PRESIDENT BLACKS DON'T LIKE FUR COATS, RED LEATHER, AND FRIED CHICKEN ANY MORE?! LET THE BALL PLAYERS DANCE AFTER THEY SCORE! IT'S LIFE MY N*GGAS, IT'S LIFE! REMEMBER CLOTHING IS A CHOICE. WE WERE BORN NAKED!!! FRESH IS AN OPINION, LOVE IS OBJECTIVE, TASTE IS SELECTIVE, AND EXPRESSION IS MY FAVORITE ELECTIVE. NO MORE POLITICS OR APOLOGIES!!!"
