West Coast rapper Game lost one of his luxury vehicles recently after new reports claim it was repossessed due to financial complications.
According to reports, Game failed to return the vehicle after its lease expired.
The Game was surrounded by a bunch of BAD*SS cars in Hollywood yesterday ... but not one of the rides was his tricked out Corvette ... because that whip was repossessed a few days ago ... TMZ has learned. Game tells TMZ he leased the Corvette roughly three years ago ... but he was on tour when the lease expired and was unable to return it. But a few days ago, after Game returned home, repo men came to the house and took the car away. Sources connected to the situation tell us Game was home at the time and was "cooperative" during the hand-off. Game doesn't seem too bothered by the situation ... telling us, "I got SO many whips!" New York rapper Lil Kim ran into a similar situation when her Bentley was repossessed in 2009.
"Yeah, yeah, it's done," Kim said radio host TT Torrez referring to her romantic run with ex-boyfriend Scott Storch. "Yeah, I have all of my jewelry, all of the things he bought me, I have everything. Yeah, the [repossessed] car, I had the car for six years so I mean, the car situation was something where I could not have anything in my name at the time, anything new in my name at the time when he bought the car for me because I was going through my court situation. And anyone who knows when you're going through a major court situation, like what I went through before I was in jail, you're not supposed to buy anything, do anything, you can't do anything at that time. You really can't so he had the title for a long time. I had no idea he wasn't paying the car note or that he was on drugs. I had no idea." (Power 92.1)
Back taxes forced Wu-Tang Clan's Method Man to lose his luxury truck in 2009.
The repo man got Method Man. The state Department of Taxation seized a 2008 Lincoln Navigator belonging to the rapper and member of the Wu-Tang Clan, who failed to pay $52,503 in personal income taxes. The luxury SUV was taken at 6 a.m. Wednesday (March 18) from Method Man's Staten Island, New York home. (New York Post)
Outside of financial woes, Game recently spoke on the state of hip-hop.
"I just think that every now and then in hip hop, there's a dead space so we need some substance," he tells Billboard.com's The Juice. "I think that I just might be one of the last artists that really cares about hip hop and not rap, not the culture, not poppin' bottles, not the cars, chains, broads, I just actually care about nurturing and giving back to this sort of foundation on which I grew up on, which is real hip-hop."
