[As the premiere of "Toya: Family Affair" airs tonight, Toya Carter opens up about her decision to allow the cameras to roll deeper into her personal life.]
I hope people watching "Toya: Family Affair" can take from [my family's] situation. In my situation, we're sharing a whole lot of severities in this show and there's a lot of people out there that are going through the same if not similar situation as me and my family.
I really hope that people can see what we are going through and what we are experiencing and being able to take all of the negative things and turn them into a positive. There wasn't any hesitation on behalf of my family about doing the show. We had a talk before deciding to [proceed], and everybody was really cool with it.
I think after this show premieres, people will look at me differently, especially after reading [my soon-to-be-released Priceless Inspirations] book and [watching the series] this time. This is going to get a whole lot deeper into my life. I've had people hit me on Twitter saying they realize I've been through a lot, so I'm already starting to [give a different impression].
