G-Unit's 50 Cent has run into a slight delay in getting the first single from his upcoming follow-up to 2009's Before I Self Destruct out to the public.
Despite plans to drop the track this week, 50 said he now wants to speak with the Interscope Records staff before its release.
"I tweeted something about the actual single," 50 explained in an interview. "While I'm out here, I gotta meeting and I gotta sit with Jimmy [Iovine], I gotta sit with the guys that push the button. I've done it by myself on my other albums because I've got my own radio staff, and I work the record, then get it to 500 hundred spins and then let them kick in. But I think it's better if I go with the entire building and have everybody on deck so they understand my plans for this project." (MTV)
Earlier this week, 50 announced plans to put out a new single.
"I'm putting my first single off my new album out this week Nothing but heat.," he tweeted Monday (April 18). (50 Cent's Twitter)
Last week, 50 hinted at an initiative to drop a film and new album on the same date.
"I'm writing another movie. Ill put it out the same day as my new album. I started last night," 50 tweeted Thursday (April 14).
"I have two ideas what do you think about a film based on war angel ?"
"I'm gonna make it 10 times better then before I self destruct that was my first time writing and directing" (50 Cent's Twitter)
Last January, 50 revealed plans to recruit Eminem, Lil Kim, Lloyd Banks and more artists for his next solo album.
50 Cent stormed Sundance over the weekend to announce his latest film ventures. While there, he also shared some other exciting news, revealing that he's reuniting with Eminem for his next album. "I just flew from Detroit. I'm working with Em on my new album," 50 told a reporter during the Park City festival. The hip-hop mogul has already collaborated with an impressive cast for his fifthstudio album including Lil' Kim, Akon, Swizz Beatz, Busta Rhymes, and Lloyd Banks. (Rap-Up)
