Young Money's Nicki Minaj is reportedly considering taking her career to the next level by starring in an upcoming film called Charge It To The Game.
While Minaj has yet to confirm/deny the power move, reports claim the rapper has multiple acting roles on the table.
The evolution of Nicki Minaj continues as she exploits her talents as a singer and explores her passion as a writer. Nicki is considering several acting roles which includes playing the lead character of Erica Payne in the film adaptation of the six time Essence's bestselling novel "Charge it to the Game" by Michele A. Fletcher. (Bossip)
The film is also reportedly looking to cast a strong line-up of other female stars.
If interested, Minaj would join other women who Fletcher feels could bring her character to life, including fellow rapper Eve, R&B singer Keri Hilson, Why Did I Get Married actress Tasha Smith, Evelyn Lozado of "Basketball Wives" fame, and (here it comes) Lil Kim. We could think of a lot of reasons why Nicki shouldn't do it (her performance in her "Right Thru Me" video being one), but we'll just sit back and see how this one plays out. (VIBE)
Last December, Minaj talked about wanting to star in a Tim Burton film.
"I'd like to play someone in a Tim Burton movie, where I get dressed up and painted and crazy," Minaj reveals within her cover feature interview. "Then I want to be able to do some action stuff, like Angelina Jolie...And then I'd like to just play a regular girl who, you know, is facing the world. Something really sentimental and organic, that girls all around the world can identify with. You know, how Jada Pinkett Smith did in Jason's Lyric." (KING)
Around mid-September, unreleased footage of Minaj acting in a film called Stuck On Broke landed online.
You may already be familiar with her aliases Roman Zolanski, Nicki Lewinsky, and Harajuku Barbie. Now Nicki Minaj takes on a new role in this lost scene from the 2009 independent movie Stuck on Broke starring OJ Da Juiceman. A stripped-down Minaj, seen without her colorful wigs, plays the part of Veronica in this emotional scene, cut from the flick after she was unable to shoot additional scenes due to scheduling conflicts. "We recognized Nicki's talent early, [but] unfortunately it didn't work out," said the film's producers. (Rap-Up)
