[SOHH features a new entertainment personality each week to speak on who they feel is the most underrated artist. After Kevin Cossom gave Ace Hood the title last week, R&B star Keri Hilson now crowns Andre 3000 SOHH Underrated.]
I think Andre 3000 gets it. As of late, he may not be the most underrated, but right now I don't think he gets the stuff he deserves for what he's done and the legacy he was a part of, as far as paving the way for Atlanta music.
I think Andre 3000 is one of the current, most underrated rappers in this climate right now. Specifically, I just feel like in today's music climate, people don't appreciate what he's done and his contributions [to hip-hop]. I'd love to see more of him and I don't think everyone is waiting as much as I am to see Andre return with music.
I'm a huge fan of OutKast and what they've done for Atlanta music, and putting us on the map. And also, Andre is so versatile. Look at what he and Big Boi have done. They're so versatile in their music and are able to do it successfully.
So specifically, I just feel like in "today's" climate OutKast should be recognized more but especially Andre 3000 as underrated.
Keri Hilson, recently named the new face of Avon's Imari beauty scent released her RIAA Gold Certified debut a'bum "In A Perfect World..." early last year. Spawning numerous #1 hits "Turning Me On" ft. Lil' Wayne and "Knock You Down" ft. Kanye West & Ne-Yo, the singer scored critical notoriety winning Best New Artists awards and nominations from The Grammy's, The American Music Awards, BET Awards, NAACP Image Awards, MOBO Awards and Soul Train Awards. Previously the Atlanta native appeared on MTV VMA's, Teen Choice Awards and Vogue's Fashion Night Out in part to the global #1 hit "The Way I Are" with mentor and super-producer Timbaland.
