Past enemies Will.i.am and Perez Hilton officially ended their past feud after the controversial media personality applauded last night's Black Eyed Peas' Super Bowl halftime performance.
Hilton sent his best wishes to Will via his Twitter account and said that the crew's performance was stellar.
"Pigs are about to fly......," he tweeted Sunday (February 6). "I think that was the best Half Time Show in years!"
"So the Peas did not sound amazing, but they were very entertaining! Much better than The Who last year or Tom Petty before!"
"@iamwill I mean it. Great job! You could tell you guys worked very hard on it!" (Perez Hilton's Twitter)
Will acknowledged Hilton's praises and expressed their significance.
"@PerezHilton thanks perez...it means a lot from you...," he tweeted back. (Will.i.am's Twitter)
Tensions rose between Will and Perez in June 2009 during the MuchMusic Awards show in Canada, where the media personality accused the singer of assault.
"It's one thing to tell your opinion and it's another thing to just go overboard and just be blatantly rude for no apparent reason," Will explained in a live Internet broadcast. "I was the one that came to him with respect, and he was the one who called me a f*ggot outside the club...Sounds like somebody wants mad attention and is not really concerned about his health...Shame on you, shame on your behavior, and that's just messed up." The Black Eyed Peas performed multiple songs during last night's Superbowl halftime show.
The Black Eyed Peas switched up their lyrics during the Super Bowl halftime show. In "Where Is the Love?," will.i.am included a call-out to President Barack Obama, whom he supported in the last election, about education and employment. "In America we need to get things straight / Obama, let's get these kids educated / Create jobs so the country stays stimulated," he sang. (They also used the radio-friendly version of "Let's Get It Started" instead of the original song's title, "Let's Get Retarded.") (Hollywood Reporter)
