Young Money's Nicki Minaj recently opened up about her love life and why searching for Mr. Right does not hold much weight for her blossoming career.
While Minaj loves family and friends, the Pink Friday platinum seller said her focus right now is solely on the music.
"I have no romance in my life at all, and it's not important to me right now. I have love for people who are on my team that I see every day and for my family, that's what makes me do what I do. I also have love for people that I interact with. If I have too much of the romantic love, I feel like it will distract me. Right now I feel like a robot." (BET)
Last month, Minaj publicly revealed being a single lady on the market.
"I'm proud that women, female rappers that come in this game after Nicki Minaj can see that, you know what? There is a chance for you to sell just as much as the boys and to be recognized. And you don't have to feel like, because you're a female rapper, you going to not be recognized. And so for that alone, I'm proud. I'm happy...Yes. I'm single and ready to mingle [laughs]." (E! Featured in the new KING magazine, Minaj dished out her ideal hottie.
"Um, I look for someone who is calm, someone who is strong enough to not have to win every argument, someone who allows a woman to be her crazy self and someone with a conscience not to feel less of a man. You know, someone who is able to honor his woman but also bring out the freak in [her]. Just being super aggressive when the time is right. Just something that makes me feel like they're in control, when we are behind closed doors." (KING)
In a recent interview with late night talk show host Chelsea Handler, Minaj stressed the importance of control while in a relationship.
"It's like your natural instinct is to be bossy, but then you really can't be like that with your boyfriend all the time, you know," Minaj explained to television host Chelsea Handler. "I'm the total opposite in relationships. Like, I like for the boy to take control when we are [in bed.] It's so different in real life. But when you're with a boy, I want to feel like you can be a boss if you want to be, but you let me be the boss in real life, in public. It's weird because him being a boss would turn me on but at the end of the day when it was time to really make it long-term, it would be too many egos clashing. You know what I mean? It's true."
