Turns out Lil Wayne will make fans wait a bit longer for his "6 Foot, 7 Foot" music video as new reports suggest tonight's MTV premiere has been postponed.
According to reports, Weezy's latest visual is still being edited.
Lil Wayne fans will have to wait a little longer to see his latest creation. Originally set to debut the Hype Williams-directed video for "6 Foot 7 Foot" on Thursday, the premiere has been postponed while Weezy puts the finishing touches on the clip. The new air date is currently unknown, but photos taken on set hint at what can be expected, with the Cash Money rapper playing a boxer in one scene. (Rap-Up)
The clip was initially slated to premiere tonight at 8 PM EST.
On Thursday at 8 p.m. ET MTV and MTV.com will air "MTV First: Lil Wayne", a video-premiere event during which fans can see out the debut of the "6 Foot 7 Foot" clip, as well as go behind-the-scenes of the Hype Williams-directed visual, which was shot in Miami and features upstart lyricist Cory Gunz, who will be featured in the upcoming MTV docu-series "Son of a Gun". Immediately following the premiere, Wayne will also sit down with MTV News' Sway for his first live interview since he was released from prison last year. (MTV)
Photos from the video shoot landed online in mid-January.
Hello World! Check out some photos of me filming the "6 Foot, 7 Foot" music video in Miami. I have a few costume changes in the video, very different from videos you've seen me do. Can't wait for everyone to see the video. (Weezy Thanx You)
After December's "6'7" release, SOHH hit up Young Money rapper Short Dawg to get his opinion of the record.
"Everyone is hearing Lil Wayne doing what he do," Short told SOHH referring to Weezy's bars. "And Cory, that's my dog. Me and Cory have been cool since he was back on Def Jam. A lot of people don't know me and Cory have a cool relationship. Cory is like one of my comrades coming over to Young Money, getting drafted. It's like when LeBron James came over to the Heat with Dwayne Wade. We were already cool and it just makes it that much better. Man, listen, both of them [are] awesome at what they do and ain't nobody can top what they did. Period. I personally haven't gotten my hand on the beat yet but if I touch it [for a remix], you already know what's gonna happen." (SOHH)
