With Young Money's Nicki Minaj continuing to turn heads in the music and fashion industries, SOHH reached out to model-turned-entrepreneur Kimora Lee Simmons for her take on the jaw-dropping Barbie.
Familiar with Minaj's avant-garde persona, Simmons said she loves the rapper's ability to maintain her individuality.
"I think she's a great girl and really beautiful," Kimora told SOHH. "And I think Nicki Minaj is really sexy. I also think it's amazing what she's doing for music and fashion right now. I really see her as an amazing girl and I love everything that she's doing with the fashion in particular. I love what she's doing with the fashion because I like for people to be individuals and have their own take on things. So I kind of embrace individuality and that's what I love the most about her." A few months ago, Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow also admitted to being on "Barbie" watch.
"I listen to everything," Paltrow said in an interview. "I probably have the most schizophranic [sic] iPod. My biggest obsession right now is the Nicki Minaj album. She's a genius. I'm also obsessed with Kanye's album. I really like Dierks Bentley. He has a bluegrass record that I really love...I watched Beyonce a ton because I think she's the best live performer happening right now. She has this amazing confidence..." (Stumble Upon)
Recently, country music star Taylor Swift admitted to being a Minaj fan.
During a visit to Nashville's 107.5 The River, radio jocks gave the singer the opportunity to request one song. Swift opted for Minaj's 'Super Bass', a track off her debut album, 'Pink Friday'. The country crooner, rather shyly, admitted she was able to recite the words to the rapper's track. Though she revealed she usually only spits a verse in the comfort of her own car, Swift demonstrated her rhyming abilities by rapping a few choice lines during her interview. Once finished, Taylor seemed a bit embarrassed over how she performed. "I just rapped acappella very badly," she stated. "But it's a good enough song." (AOL Music Blog)
Last month, Hollywood actress Lindsay Lohan shouted out Minaj for the name drop on her "I'm The Best" Pink Friday record.
"Love Nikki Minaj for the shout on her track "im the best" xox so cool! - http://say.ly/APE7yR," Lohan tweeted Monday (January 31).
"I heart @nickiminaj - thanks for the shout! "I'm the best" by nickiminaj. Check it. - http://say.ly/don7za" (Lindsay Lohan's Twitter)
