[With tomorrow's vinyl release of Amnesia, West Coast emcee Blu breaks down the Top 5 Reasons you need to add this to your wax collection.]

1. Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind

The first reason why you should go out and get Amnesia is just in case you caught some amnesia yourself and forgot how dope it is. Amnesia is more of a song reminiscent of the chiller brew most of my fan base is used to. It's more of the soul provided Blu. This one is more reflecting toward stores of love as opposed to lyricism or soul music in general. So this is more of a hip-hop ballet. This is Blu's version of "I Need Love" on vinyl. It was originally released on Valentine's Day.

2. Delicious Vinyl

The second reason is because it means so much just to have the vinyl version. This is for all the vinyl heads out there. Vinyl is just for the heads who grew up during that vinyl era and remember how dope it was to put an instrumental up on wax. Vinyl used to be for the heads who couldn't get an album deal and would put out their music on vinyl. They would get a 12-inch deal. It just meant so much to have two bangers on a piece of wax. So this is for all the heads who grew up through that era who used to hang around Fat Beats. I think vinyl is alive for those heads.

3. My Melody

Another big reason is for all the heads out there looking for an instrumental to rap over. I named the instrumental reason just in case people want to hear me shut up. There's some people who may just want to vibe out to the sounds so it's always good to have the instrumental there. For some emcees, it's good to be able to write to instrumentals too. Sometimes an emcee can't find the beat to fit their mode or particular mood and so it's good to be able to tap into that beat or instrumental to help write sometimes.

4. We Invented The Remix

A fourth reason this is a must-have is because of the remix on here. The remix was just one of the final songs which didn't make the final EP. The original is a Billie Holiday sample, "Am I Blue", and the remix is the Ella Fitzgerald "Am I Blue." They are both going to be on the project, but initially the project was completed without the Ella version. Later on I decided to put the Ella one on the single just to give the people a taste of the other songs that didn't make the cut so it still has that groove and that feeling to it too.

5. A-B-C, Easy As 1-2-3

The B-Side is pretty nice and another reason why you should go out and get it. The B-Side is a more upbeat version of the A-Side. The A-Side is really chilled and relaxed. When you listen to Billie Holliday music, it usually puts you in a melancholy mood. And James Brown is usually known for getting your energy up. So I put the B-Side on there with the JB loop in case you're going through a break-up, there's always the lighter side.
