News: Usher Wants To Revolutionize Pop, "I'm Working On A New Genre Of Music"

Grammy-winning singer Usher has confessed his desire to create a new music genre dubbed "Revolutionary Pop".
While declining to specify his master plan, Usher did hint at what inspired his revolution.
Making little sense, Usher recently said that he is creating a new genre of music called "Revolutionary Pop," which apparently inspired him to style his hair in a fauxhawk. "I'm working on a new genre of music -- Revolutionary Pop -- which combines several music genres to create a new sound experience," said the R&B singer. "I love that people are talking about the new hair, it represents who I am now and the creative movement of Revolutionary Pop." (Billboard)
Usher appeared on the 2011"People's Choice Awards last week.
Despite fierce competition in the form of Dancing With The Stars and names like Alicia Keys and Beyonce, American Idol, Usher walked away with 2011 People's Choice Awards Wednesday night. In a ceremony hosted by Queen Latifah with appearances from Kim Kardashian, Katy Perry and Neil Patrick Harris, American Idol won Favorite Competition Show. Joining 'Idol,' the "OMG" singer won Favorite R&B Artist Wednesday. He faced off with Mary J Blige, Ne-Yo, Alicia Keys and Beyonce, who were nominated for the same award. (Examiner)

The singer's latest full-length solo album debuted atop the sales chart last April.
R&B hitmaker Usher made his return this week with the release ofRaymond V. Raymond which topped the charts at No. 1. According to Nielsen SoundScan, the singer's latest album has sold 330,100 records after a week in stores. (SOHH Sales Wrap)
