Young Money's Nicki Minaj did not just hold her own during last weekend's "Saturday Night Live" appearance, but the rapper-turned-actor helped boost up the popular televised program's season ratings.
According to reports, Minaj's involvement on Saturday's show marked its second-highest ratings of the season.
Nicki Minaj's appearance on 'Saturday Night Live' this past weekend was a major success for the Young Money rapper, boosting the famed sketch comedy show to its second highest ratings of the season. Saturday's show scored an average 3.2 rating with 18-49-year-olds in 25 markets, tying with the Sept. 25 season premiere and coming in second only to the Jan. 8 show, which was hosted by sketch comedy legend Jim Carrey. In one sketch, Minaj portrayed the role of a 1980's-looking school nerd with a lust for boys.
Hide your kids, hide your wife, hide your husband. Nicki Minaj is on the "Creep!" The hip-hop hottie joins comedy trio The Lonely Island in an "SNL Digital Short." Nicki plays a geeky school girl named Point Dexter, who stalks the boys locker room to get a peek of the fellas, later showing up at a wake. "So get your knees flexin' and your arms T-Rexin' and creep," commands Nicki on the track, which is now available on iTunes. Follow her lead. (Rap-Up)
She also focused on her much talked about lower backside in a "Bride of Blackenstein" sketch.
Minaj did show off her voluptuous side when she popped up in a fake blaxpoitation flick, "Bride of Blackenstein," alongside Jay Pharoah as an evil scientist, Kenan Thompson as Frankenstein and host Jesse Eisenberg as the hunchbacked assistant. When the doctor unveiled his creation, she captivated the fellas with her rotund behind, as Eisenberg quipped "That's why you had me fill those basketballs with Jell-O!" But she quickly made it clear that she has an attitude to match her assets, batting away Frankenstein's advances with "You think you can just walk up on me and get some of this?" After she officially staked her claim to the castle and insisted her new man stay at home, the townspeople stormed the dungeon but were quickly diverted by a wiggle of Minaj's mega-booty. (MTV)
Expressing her excitement, Minaj tweeted her post-show reactions via Twitter.
"SNL!!!!!!!!!!! There's MUCH more to come! #SNL," she tweeted Saturday (January 29).
"SNL just gave me yet another #moment4life | S/O to the entire staff 4 being INCREDIBLE ; and Thank you all for tuning in! xoxo" (Nicki Minaj's Twitter)
