[With 2010 now a distant memory, Busta Rhymes' protege Reek Da Villian reflects on his biggest regret from last year which put a temporary halt on his music career.]
My biggest regret of 2010 was [the fact that I was] still involved in the streets. It doesn't really even come from me trying to be in the streets, but there's things I've done in my life that I can't take back.
It's one of those things that when I'm in certain places, I have to be aware of what I've done when I'm back in the hood. I had got caught up and went to jail for [possessing] a weapon. I had a weapon on me and thankfully I had some good lawyers, so I was able to get out of it and just had to do some community service.
Even though I only had to do community service, I lost a lot of time. I lost a lot of months that I couldn't get back from dealing with these types of situations. I had a hard time dealing with the entire justice system and the criminal system.
Looking over the entire year, I really would have to say that's what I regret the most. I regret it a lot because if I didn't get caught up, those could have been two, three, even four months that I could have been doing a whole lot of other things. I think if I hadn't gotten caught up, I could have been a lot further up than where I'm at right now.
