Rapper Serius Jones recently reflected on his impromptu barbershop battle with New York emcee Charles Hamilton and expressed what he felt his rival's underlying goal was.
Jones believes Hamilton's surprise blitzkrieg while getting his hair cut in Harlem exposed the rapper's inability to maintain his former Internet buzz.
"Don't f*ck with Serius Jones," Serius said when asked what he took from the impromptu barbershop battle. "I mean, what I learned years ago and 50 [Cent] told me this, it's some real sh*t, n*ggas stand by the fire to keep warm. So if no one's thinking about you, no one's talking about you, no one's trying to approach you, no one's trying to get some of your energy, then, you're not winning. Nobody cares. God has blessed me to still even be here doing this for a living." (Jump Off TV)
Last month, footage of the encounter emerged online and displayed Hamilton taunting Jones.
"To all those who click play, listen to the big day where this 6'2 big gay n*gga finally meets his sensei," Hamilton rapped in a barbershop. "And I'm sure he's starting to since he wrote this/I'm way PO'd, poetic, this n*gga ain't wavy, and he knows it/I'm f*cking up words, I'm so close to having to jump this n*gga/And choke him, it's hopeless/He can be shaving his beard, the most gangster of queers, somehow we accept him in our neighborhood, here..." Laughing as he listened to Hamilton's freestyle, Serius fired back with his own bars.
"This is how it goes it," Serius replied back. "Run up on Jones' sh*t/Up in the barbershop while I'm getting a haircut looking homeless/Why put the camera on me, you know it's murder/We on 135th, I saw him walking with his social worker/I got the spirit in me, Hello Biggie/Look at this n*gga's hat, Hello Kitty..." Following the footage's release, Serius expressed strong feelings about the duel via Twitter.
"BE GLAD I LOVE "HIP HOP" SH*T, CUZ I COULDVE JUST BEAT THAT LIL N*GGA THE F*CK UP THEN YALL WOULDA REALLY BEEN MAD @ ME!!," he tweeted Friday (November 12).
"Glad Yall Are ENTERTAINED.. Cuz I can't front, I found that Whole Scenario Hilarious!!" (Serius Jones' Twitter)
