Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow is the latest celebrity to issue Young Money star Nicki Minaj a co-sign and admitted to an obsession with the rapper's Pink Friday debut album.
From Paltrow's perspective, Minaj is nothing less than a musical genius.
"I listen to everything," Paltrow said in an interview. "I probably have the most schizophranic [sic] iPod. My biggest obsession right now is the Nicki Minaj album. She's a genius. I'm also obsessed with Kanye's album. I really like Dierks Bentley. He has a bluegrass record that I really love...I watched Beyonce a ton because I think she's the best live performer happening right now. She has this amazing confidence..." (Stumble Upon)
Hip-hop veteran MC Lyte recently highlighted Minaj's ability to reach a broader audience outside of hip-hop.
"Those who really need to be worried by Nicki's record is Fergie, Gwen Stefani, Nelly Furtado," Lyte said in an interview. "Nicki is coming out to win. She's not thinking of the block. She's not just thinking of the city. So she's able to handle so many areas of what it takes right now to be an international star. So hats off to everybody that's doing it but, I see the vision that Nicki sees for herself that people probably didn't see before." (VH1)
Since its release a few weeks ago, Minaj's debut has already sold nearly 500,000 copies.

Unfazed by the sales, Minaj has promised to continue promoting the album.
"I'm just so grateful and kind of still in shock," Minaj said about her debut selling over 375,000 copies in its first-week. T"hese numbers haven't been put up since 1998. It just makes me feel proud of my team, proud of my fans, everyone who has had something to do with my dreams. Finally, we are seeing this dream come to fruition. It feels incredible...Now I can promote the body of work. I feel like I gave birth to my baby, now I'm gonna teach it how to walk and how to talk and spoil the baby." (MTV)
