Eminem, Rihanna, Diddy, Usher and more took over the "American Music Awards" last night in Los Angeles with trophy wins and memorable performances at the annual ceremony.

Although hip-hop was present at the music-honoring event, pop star Justin Bieber stole the show with multiple wins.

Justin Bieber was named artist of the year at the 38th annual American Music Awards Sunday at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. The 16-year-old teen heartthrob won over Eminem, Ke$ha, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry for the show's top honor. Bieber won four statues -- for every category in which he was nominated. His other wins were for favorite pop-rock album for My World 2.0, breakthrough artist and favorite male pop artist. The winners are determined by fan votes. (Baltimore Sun)

Em won awards in the hip-hop category while singers Usher and Rihanna dominated the R&B competition.

Soul/R&B Album: Usher, "Raymond v. Raymond." Soul/R&B Female Artist: Rihanna. Soul/R&B Male Artist: Usher. Pop/Rock Band, Duo or Group: The Black Eyed Peas. Rap/Hip-Hop Album: Eminem, "Recovery." Rap/Hip-Hop Male Artist: Eminem. (The Celebrity Cafe)

Despite not winning any trophies, Diddy and his Dirty Money crew performed on the show.

Diddy paid tribute to the "all black everything" movement during his performance at the 2010 American Music Awards, as he donned an elongated blazer and combat boots for his rousing tune, 'Coming Home,' with the support of Dirty Money's Kalenna and Dawn Richard. Before the rapper hit center stage, the Dirty Money females, dressed in abstract dresses reminiscent of old maids, opened the set and sang the chorus, "Let the rain wash away/ All the pain of yesterday/ I know my kingdom awaits/ And they've forgiven my mistakes/ I'm coming home, coming home/ Tell the world I'm coming home." In addition to Diddy, the show was highlighted with a number of other performances.
