Dipset affiliate Vado has shared his reaction to 16 year-old pop star Justin Bieber freestyling over his "Speaking In Tungs" record and compared the teenager to the late Notorious B.I.G.
Impressed by Bieber's lines, Vado said he was interested in using him on the song's remix.
"I was shocked! He killed it! He sounded like [Notorious] B.I.G.," Vado said in an interview. "When I seen it on Twitter, I didn't believe it. We need to keep his verse for the remix! We might finish the remix this weekend, and let Justin go first. I'm definitely going to contact him." (New York Daily News)
Bieber's freestyle invaded the Internet earlier this week.
This kid just does it all, huh? Justin Bieber is known for eliciting squeals from tweens by way of singing and dancing. But last night the Biebs made his debut as a rapper. Over Cam'ron and Vado's "Speaking in Tungs," a huge hip-hop record in New York's tri-state area, Bieber confidently steps to the mic in a short Youtube clip. Honestly, he's pretty good. Lyrically it's pretty light on substance. But that's okay. He's only 16! And rich. He rhymes about buying a girl diamonds, being on fire, and being fly. But there is one line that's a cut above the rest, where he takes a shot at New England Patriot Tom Brady - who's been getting a lot of heat for sporting Bieber's hairstyle. Apparently there can only be one mop cut king. (Entertainment Weekly)
G-Unit's Lloyd Banks recently said he would hop on a track with Bieber.
"I would definitely do a record with Justin Bieber. I think early on in my career things were a little different. Now, the fact of the matter is the youth determine which way music is going to go," explains Banks. "When you become influential enough to control one market, I think it's time to cross-market." In August, West Coast rapper Nipsey Hussle also envisioned himself laying bars on a Bieber collaboration.
Nipsey, who is signed to the same label as the Canadian teen, said he first met Bieber at the Epic offices and was blown away by him. The two quickly became friends and Hussle says he has a spot set aside for JB on his upcoming debut, South Central State of Mind. "Justin Bieber, that's my n*gga; If we get in the studio we liable to knock something out," he shared. "People think he's just like a one-dimensional pop artist, that's not the case with him. He really a talent. [When I met him] he was beating on his guitar rappin' Tupac [and] playing the chorus to 'Thugz Mansion.' It might look like it would be strange or weird but he's such a musician, I'm pretty sure we'd find a common ground." (XXL Mag)
