Young Money rapper Nicki Minaj has revealed her interest in recording a record with pop star Lady Gaga and how she is open to working with any female in the music industry.
For Minaj, the opportunity to "kill the game" is reason enough to hop on a track with an artist like Gaga.
"I'm inspired by [Gaga's] creativity," Minaj said in an interview. "The women in the game, I never say I would never work with them because, in fact, if there's an opportunity for me to work with them, and it's a way that we can kill the game and do something crazy, why would I turn that down?" In August, rapper T.I. said he had worked with Gaga on a record.
"[Gaga] brought it to my knowledge that she would like to top what we already have," Tip said in an interview. "That being said, I don't know if that's going to be a keeper or if that's going to be one-upped or what not...I begged on hands and knees, please [for her time]." (Rap-Up)
Last May, T.I. revealed he was planning to feature Gaga on his upcoming No Mercy album.
"Phenomenal talent. Extremely proud [to work with her]," Tip said about Gaga. "She's definitely that good. She knows what she's doing. She knows exactly what she wants people to think and say. She does everything that she needs to be done to ensure it happens...We gonna go back in and record some more songs...But the one we have right now is entitled 'Lick It.' I think we both have a tendency to shock the world in a lot of different ways...[My Eminem collaboration] is in the making. It just hasn't been recorded yet. The song has been picked out and it's been agreed for us to do it. We're thinking a song that can definitely make its way to the club." (MTV)
West Coast rapper Game recently said he was interested in securing the pop star for his upcoming R.E.D. Album.
"I'm trying to get [Interscope co-founder and chairman] Jimmy Iovine to throw me in the studio with Lady Gaga," he explained in an interview. "She's a rebel, and I go against the grain every day, so, if it happens, it'll be monumental for the state of music." (ABC News)
