G-Unit rapper Lloyd Banks has discussed the story behind how his Kanye West, Fabolous and Swizz Beatz "Start It Up" collaboration came together.

According to the "Punch Line King," the track was originally slated to only feature F-a-b-o.

"The whole Kanye thing happened, it was shortly after the tweet that he wrote, the comment he made about me being underrated and should be in everybody's top five," Banks told MTV News over the phone Thursday. "We read that statement, and it kind of took off on its own. I definitely appreciated that. Just for him to say that opens up the eyes that have been watching him [to me]. And from there, it made sense to go into the studio with him. Shortly after that, we went into the studio...That was one of the last joints I recorded for my album. Originally it was me and Fab, then I got Kanye, then Swizz was in the city and so was Ryan [Leslie]. The difference from that track being me and Fab and having Kanye was 24 hours. I didn't have it for a minute. We did it recently." (MTV)

Their record hit the Internet Wednesday (October 6) evening.

"So you know all those guys who turned out for the last G.O.O.D. Friday (technically Saturday) track? Well, they are almost all together again here on the latest leak from Lloyd Banks' forthcoming H.F.M. 2. The only difference is that "Christian Dior Denim Flow" featured KiD CuDi and Pusha T and in their place on "Start It Up" is Swizz Beatz, who tackles the hook and a weird bridge. This track is also slightly more "futuristic" thanks to the heavy synthesizer usage of producer Cardiak. The rapped verses from Kanye, Banks, and Fabolous are again passable, with Yeezy still killing it with those smirk-worthy lines. Thanks to their bars and the relatively catchy, albeit kind of dumb, hook, I can see this getting reasonable radio play. But I'm hoping this isn't the only trick Banks has up his sleeve for his new album." (Prefix Mag)

Earlier this week, Banks said the track would originally be titled "Trackstar."

"I'm excited," he says of the upcoming project, which has already spawned the gold single "Beamer, Benz or Bentley." "I put a lot of thinking into this project. Every verse on my album that I got for a feature is crazy. The Kanye West joint 'Trackstar' is crazy. The song actually features me, Kanye, Swizz Beatz and Fabolous. I got Pusha T on a song called 'Home Sweet Home.' He's very underrated; Pusha has been doing it for so long that he's in a similar space as me. Everybody knows the Clipse as legendary rappers. Now he's beginning a new legacy with his solo career. And I'm doing the same thing." (VIBE)

Last weekend, Banks was featured on West's G.O.O.D. Friday track, "Christian Dior Denim Flow."

Welcome to another very dope G.O.O.D Friday...Hey we know its Saturday but for the sake of G.O.O.D Music any day can be a Friday. After a few leaks it seemed that we weren't going to get our fix of new Yeezy this week, but Mr West pulled it of the bag this week, linking up with his fellow G.O.O.D Music labelmates KiD CuDi, John Legend & Pusha T as well as G-Unit's Lloyd Banks alongside singer/producer Ryan Leslie for "Christian Dior Denim Flow".
