News: Kanye West Ready For "Saturday" Invasion
Friday, Oct 1, 2010 12:10PM
Kanye West has displayed no hard feelings toward weekend variety show "Saturday Night Live" during his rehearsals this week.
According to reports, West signed posters thanking the show's producers for the opportunity during his practice sessions.
Kanye West's beef with the cast of "Saturday Night Live" is water under the bridge. Yeezy accepted an invitation to perform on this weekend's show (his fourth appearance) and even signed two promo posters during rehearsals today. "2 SNL thanks again," he wrote. It looks like everyone's laughing it off. "We love 'SNL' and the whole cast," tweeted 'Ye's manager Don Crawley. (Rap-Up)
A couple days ago, West tweeted about prepping for his weekend set.
"I'm in the studio or editing suite every night to 3am finishing the film and the album or practicing for my SNL performance," he tweeted. (Kanye West's Twitter)
Following his televised interruption of country singer Taylor Swift's award acceptance speech at the 2009 Video Music Awards, "SNL" poked fun at West in a commercial last year.
According to MTV News, Swift starts saying that she'll be this week's host in her SNL promo, only to be interrupted by SNL cast member Bill Hader, who tells her, "Whoops, Kanye West just called. He thinks Beyoncé should host instead." Then he adds, "Funny, huh?" Swift kind of just stands there, rolls her eyes and whispers to herself, "Wow." Bill then awkwardly says, "Good times," and walks off the set whispering to himself, "Hater." (Celebuzz)
Details on his weekend performance were announced last month.
Kanye West will appear as the musical guest on the October 2 episode of "Saturday Night Live," which will be hosted by "Breaking Bad" star Bryan Cranston. The high-profile appearance, which NBC confirmed to MTV News on Tuesday (September 21) morning, will come less than a month after West closed out the VMAs with the debut of a new song, "Runaway."
