News: Fabolous Reveals His Most Regretted Twitter Beef, "That Might've Started The Whole Sh*t Of [Celebs] Getting Verified"

New York rapper Fabolous has revealed the Twitter diss he wishes he could recant; the tweet which he mistakenly accused T-Pain of wanting to spark a beef with him.
Fab also believes his Twitter rant against Pain may have motivated the social network to enforce celebrities to have their accounts verified.
"Twitter is like the drunk uncle of my personality. People just say I go in on people, but it's all in good humor. But I've regretted certain things I've said that later I found out was a little different than I thought. I heard T-Pain say 'F*ck Jay-Z' [at a show in Vegas] and I tweeted it, like 'Oh sh*t, where'd that come from.' [Later], people were saying T-Pain was upset with me and that he said something on Twitter. I reacted based on that, started a trending topic called #TPainBetter [dissing] T-Pain. But I was fairly new to Twitter, so I didn't know there were fake pages. I spoke to T-Pain--the truth is it was a fake. That might've started the whole sh*t of [celebrities] getting verified. We cleared up the situation. It was funny, though." (VIBE)
Fab publicly aired out Pain with an onslaught of tweets posted in September 2009.
"Jus heard Tpain says F*ck JayZ & F*ck Fabolous too over Twitter... Ok, now me & my twiggas/Street Twitter Ditta Dam must go in on him! The rapper later said it was a misunderstanding, and that there was no longer any bad blood.
"He called me, he hit me, he texted me and said to call him," Fab revealed in an interview. "At first, I just apologized really because I kinda jumped out the window a little bit and didn't even check in to it before I knew what I was doing. I apologized for that. Then he was just explaining the whole thing with Jay, how he felt Jay was coming at him a little bit and I told him 'I just heard an interview this morning with Jay -- on a morning show doing an interview -- saying you were one of the guys who brought it back to music and he respected you for doing it plus a few other people but he didn't like the whole genre of music jumping on auto-tune....' I had to backdown because I really provoked it, but still, I got some false information...This is how stuff starts in the industry." (Hot 97)
Last year, Fab said artists should be careful about what they tweet.
"The only thing I really don't like about Twitter is a lot of what you say can be taken out of context," Fab said in a statement. "If you say something now, the way the media is, if you include somebody's name in it, it becomes a big web and big blog interest." (Hip Hop DX)
