Grammy-winning rappers Eminem and Kanye West's wide-appeal has been exposed with a new co-sign by renowned television host and queen of homemaking, Martha Stewart.
According to the 69-year-old business magnate, Stewart keeps both emcees under her radar.
"I don't know if [Eminem's] in the [Hottest MCs countdown] game but I think so 'cause he has an album that's, like, close to the top of the charts. It's always been Eminem. I don't know why, but it's always been...[He's] huge, huge, huge." Stewart added that she "also [likes] Kanye West. I think he's very good." In fact, Stewart is well-acquainted with Yeezy, and recalled an encounter with the Louis Vuitton Don at a tony New York City hot spot. "One day I met him at Nobu uptown," Stewart said. "We saw this table full of rapper-type guys and I said, 'That's Kanye West.' And everybody at my table said, 'Nope, they're imposters, they're impersonators.' And he then walks over and introduces himself and asks if he can come and see me at my office." (MTV)
Stewart also believes Yeezy's pop run is far from over.
"[Kanye] wants to brand himself. He's a big-time guy and he wants to do all those fabulous things," she said. "You'll be seeing Kanye West everything. He's great." (MTV)
Last year, Stewart invited rap veteran Snoop Dogg to appear on her cooking show.
We feel like we know Martha Stewart well enough to figure that when she planned to bake browniesduring a segment featuring hip-hop artist Snoop Dogg, she knew what she was doing. Such that when she asked him to "rap while we're doing this" as the pair stirred flour into brownie batter, she could have predicted this exchange: Snoop: "Trying to make some brownies, but we're missing the most important part of the brownies." Martha: "Which is, which is, which is ..." Snoop: "No sticks no seeds no stems." Martha: "You want green brownies." Snoop: "Yes." Martha: "He wants green brownies. Brownish green brownies." Snoop: "The greener the better!" (NY Mag)
Stewart is known for her admiration toward hip-hop artists.
Some may think it's odd that talk show host Martha Stewart takes a fond liking to rappers. Snoop Dogg, P Diddy and LL Cool J are some of her favorites. When Martha was released from the clink back in 2005, her very first guest on the relaunch of her show was none other than P Diddy. Last week Snoop Dogg was on, showing Martha how to make his secret 'cognac potatoes'. (Bitten & Bound)
