Country singer Taylor Swift is reportedly going to break her silence on Kanye West a year after his televised interruption of her Video Music Awards '09 acceptance speech at tonight's ceremony.
According to reports, Swift has penned a song discussing West.
Be warned, Kanye: Taylor Swift has written a song about you, and she's singing it at Sunday's MTV Video Music Awards. Swift wrote a song about the experience earlier this year, and a source familiar with the show said Saturday the 20-year-old will sing the new song at the VMAs, which will be aired live on MTV. The source did not want to be identified because of the sensitivity of the matter. The song is on Swift's upcoming album "Speak Now," due out in October. The source said Swift performed it during a secret rehearsal in Los Angeles for the VMAs on Friday. (Billboard)
Last week, West issued a public apology to Swift via Twitter.
"Man I love Twitter... I've always been at the mercy of the press but no more... The media tried to demonize me," Ye tweetedyesterday (September 4th).
"They wanted yall to believe I was a monster in real life so you guys wouldn't listen or buy my music anymore."
"I feel like they were waiting for the opportunity to go in all the way on me and when it came they beat me to a pulp"
"I want to win there hearts back so I can continue to bring my take on culture to the masses with a clean opinion."
"It starts with this...I'm sorry Taylor." (Kanye West's Twitter)
This year's Video Music Awards host Chelsea Handler has said a possible reunion between Swift and West could be in the works.
Speaking to Ryan Seacrest on his KISS-FM radio show Thursday, Handler previewed her emceeing technique and said she hoped to reunite two strange bedfellows: Kanye West and Taylor Swift. "I'd like to get them together," Handler, 35, told Seacrest. "We've never really seen them together since then. They were supposed to be together on SNL, but then that didn't end up happening...We'll try to think of something clever to do with them, because that would be really fun." (PEOPLE)
Speaking on her "American Boy" collaborator, singer Estelle recently gave an opinion of West's MTV Video Music Awards incident with Taylor Swift last fall.
"I was surprised by the amount of crap he got. It was like, do you know this guy? Come on now everyone, stop being surprised," said Estelle, who collaborated with West on the single "American Boy." "I don't think he will have any problems coming back. He speaks the absolute truth, no editing or tailoring. I thinks that's why every time he comes back everyone is really excited." (NBC Miami)
The 2010 MTV Video Music Awards will air live from the Nokia Theater in downtown Los Angeles on Sunday, September 12, at 9 p.m.
