Incarcerated rapper Lil Wayne reportedly has music videos on deck for his upcoming Tha Carter IV and I Am Not A Human Being EP releases.
According to the rapper's videographer DJ Scoob Doo, the videos are in safe keeping.
"I got videos for the Carter IV and the I'm not a Human Being EP all ready. I can't say the name of the song but Wayne was singing on the hook, but they're getting Drake to re-do it and it's off the Human Being EP," Scoob says. "Carter IV is probably the best album I've heard in the last decade, but Wayne is such a different artist now that wants to record new music when he comes home. The stuff he's talking about now is just on another level. That's why a lot of the songs on the EP were originally taken from the Carter IV." (VIBE)
Wayne's "Roger That" music video director David Rousseau recently informed SOHH he would be involved with the rapper's EP promotion.
"It's still kinda really being developed," Rousseau told SOHH about a pending role on Wayne's upcoming EP. "Cash Money, they're developing ideas at the time so it's really kinda under wraps right now but I know whatever it ends up being, it's going to be big. But for right now, it's still pretty much under wraps but I know they're definitely trying to come out with something big so I'm gonna be involved. Right now, we're gonna see what happens but it's still really being processed." (SOHH)
Young Money president Mack Maine has said Carter IV's release will likely coincide with the day Wayne is released from Rikers Island on a gun conviction this November.
"Tha Carter IV plans we had and still have are to put Tha Carter IV out the day he comes out [of prison]," Mack said in an interview. "He had so many songs for Tha Carter IV, we said let's just put these 10 songs out [on I Am Not a Human Being] and double-back for Tha Carter IV. He has more songs for Tha Carter IV that are still strong...It's basically me, him, Baby and [manager] Cortez Bryant mapping it out. We had a listening session out here. It was me, Baby and Cortez. I let [Wayne] know these are the ones we picked. He already picked six of them from back there. I let him hear it over the phone. I book him a studio session -- kinda like I did for the 'Light Up' up remix with Drake. I book him a studio session and let him listen [to tracks] over the phone. 'Do you like this one?' 'Yeah?'" Tha Bizness' Dow Jones recently talked about helping produce Carter IV.
"Carter IV's gonna change your life," Dow Jones said in an interview. "Wayne is gonna change your life. That's all I'm gonna tell you. Be ready for that. It's something you've never seen before. It's incredible. When we finally heard a couple of the joints he did, we were just like, 'Man.' We thought Carter III was incredible and he took it a couple of steps up. One thing about Wayne, he's a workaholic. There's very few people we've been in the studio with that work harder than him aside from T-Pain, Wayne's probably there...Carter IV was before he went to jail -- as soon as he gets out, it's time to cook it back up. He's got so many records. He'll do maybe an album's worth of stuff in a day. You'll never know how much Wayne's gonna do." (Rap-Up)
