Grammy-winning rapper Kanye West has paid homage to G-Unit's Lloyd Banks and said the emcee is one of the most underrated artists in hip-hop.

Writing via Twitter, West also said Banks' skills earn him a spot in the best rappers of all-time list.

"Yo man Loyd Banks prolly the most underrated MC in the game... Man he deserve to be top 5 at least!," West tweeted Wednesday (September 8) night.

Following the compliment, Banks responded and expressed his gratitude to West.

After being called the best producer of all-time, Swizz Beatz publicly shared his reaction.

"I mean, he said it," Swizz told DJ Envy with a smile when asked about his reaction to West's statement. "He said it and I don't know how to take compliments like that because I'm so used to playing the back and being humble and modest and that's really who I am. But from a perspective of how he's looking from, he's probably really looking from the core and starting from 1998 to 2010, being consistent and having so many back-to-back-to-back-to-back success stories and y'all gotta ask him that. I can't answer that. [laughs] More importantly, I'm in a good space in my life and when you bring that good energy to the studio, when you bring that energy into the music, it reflects better music." ("Sucker Free")

West also recently said Nicki Minaj and Eminem were two of the rap game's top emcees.

Kanye said Young Money star Nicki Minaj could be one of the greatest hip-hop stars ever. "This is gonna be such a big statement, and such a big thing to fill: The scariest artist right now is definitely Nicki Minaj. I think she has the most potential to be the number-two rapper of all time. Nobody's gonna be bigger than Eminem." When asked what being the "number-two rapper of all-time" meant, he said, "Everything! Having a whole network one day. Everything that comes with it." He also confirmed that Nicki is on his album, as is G.O.O.D. Music artist Kid Cudi. (MTV)
