Undefeated boxing champion Floyd Mayweather, Jr. was reportedly arrested in Las Vegas on a felony charge related to a domestic violence dispute with his ex-girlfriend.

Details on the arrest hit the Internet Friday (September 10) afternoon.

Mayweather, 33, was booked Friday on a grand larceny charge at the Clark County jail and held on $3,000 bail, Las Vegas police Officer Bill Cassell said. Mayweather's lawyer, Richard Wright, said Mayweather is accused of taking an iPhone from Josie Harris, his ex-girlfriend and mother of three of his children. Nevada law calls for a grand-larceny charge when the value of the goods in question is $250 or more. "He surrendered," Wright said, denying the allegations against Mayweather. "He did not commit any grand larceny," Wright told The Associated Press. "Josie can't find her iPhone. We're attempting to find it or replace it. We'll cooperate in the investigation. We expect to get the matter resolved." (ESPN)

A restraining order filed against Mayweather was reportedly put into effect this week.

Earlier Friday, entertainment website TMZ said Harris filed a request for a restraining order against Mayweather Thursday, saying in accompanying documents that he came to her Las Vegas home that morning and awoke her by "pulling me by my hair and throwing me on the ground in my living room and began punching me in my head." Earlier this week, Mayweather caught heat for an alleged domestic dispute with his ex.

"Police sought boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. for questioning Thursday about a domestic battery complaint lodged by an ex-girlfriend who recanted a similar claim in 2005, police and his lawyer said. "She alleges he hit her. We're looking for him to get his side of the story," said Officer Barbara Morgan, a Las Vega police spokeswoman. "We're looking to talk to him as a potential suspect." No warrant was issued, and no charges were immediately filed. (Associated Press)

Following the reports, the boxer's friend/rap star 50 Cent defended him.

"Another case of angry baby mama wanting money. Police are looking for @FloydMayweather. I just got off the phone with him," 50 tweeted Thursday (September 10).
"She's claiming he hit her but has no bruises. Floyd went to see his kids last night if a fighter of floyd caliber hits u, u would b bruised"
"I talked to him before and after the situation he wasnt even upset. He said he asked her why was the house so dirty she started trippin" (50 Cent's Twitter)
