Grammy-winning rapper Kanye West has opened up about how Young Money rap star Drake pressured him into stepping up his rhyme game earlier this year.

According to Ye, Drake's talent forced him to become a better emcee.

"Drake was the first thing that actually scared me and put pressure on me, because it was the first thing that was blatantly from a similar perspective and lane. When I feel pressure, I step my game up. So I believe that Drake made great music for people to love and enjoy, but he also forced me to step my game up, because I have to be Kanye West." Last July, Drizzy talked about how West's upcoming release motivated him.

"I'm very much looking forward to the Kanye West album because I need to be scared and inspired for my second joint," Drake to radio personality Funkmaster Flex. "That ['Power'] record just had to happen. Kanye's a genius and I'm super excited for the rest of the album because I've heard some things that people haven't heard." ("Sucker Free")

He previously said West's LP would be considered as one of the best rap albums in a decade.

The Canadian rapper-singer revealed to GQ magazine that he has been in Hawaii laying down tracks for both his and Mr. West's albums. When asked how they divide time between the two projects, Drake joked, "More like we work on his album until he gets tired." Little is known about West's fifth studio effort, but the Young Money star offered his inside take. "His album is going to be one of the best hip-hop albums in the last 10 years," he declared. While fans await Ye's new album, they can look forward to the rapper and Drizzy appearing on Chris Brown's upcoming "Deuces" remix together.

Chris Brown told fans: "I'mma let ya'll know a little secret. We got the 'Deuces' remix coming. 'Deuces' remix features myself, Fabolous, T.I., Drake, Kanye West, and Andre 3000. I'm actually supposed to be getting Kanye's verse any minute now. "I got everybody else's very ready, so we're waiting right now. We're gonna put it together and have it to ya'll either by next week or this week, probably Friday." (MTV UK)
