Grammy-winning rapper T.I. has revealed that rap fans can anticipate new music from Kanye West to be featured on his upcoming King Uncaged LP.
While resisting details, the "King of the South" said the tracks were worked on in Hawaii.
Call it the reunion of the King of the South and Martin Louis the King Jr. The last time T.I. hooked up with Kanye West, the two made the undeniable hip-hop anthem "Swagger Like Us." And the pair recently took half a dozen more shots at making another classic. You can add the Louis Vuitton Don to the list of acclaimed producers to work on Tip's next LP, King Uncaged (due in September). "I just left Hawaii with Kanye," Tip said last night in Hollywood on the red carpet for the world premiere of "Takers." "We did six records." (MTV)
Grand Hustle's DJ Drama recently revealed that T.I. was working on West's forthcoming new album.
"He just got back from Hawaii," Drama told radio personality DJ Whoo Kid during a broadcast on Saturday (July 24) referring to T.I.. "He was out there with Kanye, working on Kanye's album. [His] movie's coming out August 27th. Takers." (Radio Planet TV)
T.I.'s new album is expected to drop at the end of September.
T.I.'s upcoming album - his first since his release from prison - King Uncaged, has been pushed back to September 28. Revealed on Amazon.com, the new release date is the latest example of a Hip Hop artist whose album has has dropped later than expected - a laundry list that includes the likes of Drake, Game, Diddy, Rhymefest and N.E.R.D. (Hip Hop DX)
The rapper recently compared his project to the late Tupac Shakur's All Eyez on Me.
T.I. is setting the bar high for his post-prison album, King Uncaged, comparing it to Tupac's 1996 classic All Eyez on Me, which was released months after 'Pac got out of prison. "This is the most significant return from incarceration that the game has had since then," T.I. says. "Just given the enormous success of that project, everyone's expecting the same results. I just want to meet the expectations, if not surpass them." (Rolling Stone)
