Grammy-winning rapper T.I. recently talked about recording a new collaboration with pop superstar Lady Gaga and how he "begged on hands and knees" to get on a track with her.
Despite laying a song down already, the "King of the South" said Gaga wants to out-do their unreleased record.
"[Gaga] brought it to my knowledge that she would like to top what we already have," Tip said in an interview. "That being said, I don't know if that's going to be a keeper or if that's going to be one-upped or what not...I begged on hands and knees, please [for her time]." (Rap-Up)
Last May, T.I. said he was planning to feature Gaga on his upcoming King Uncaged album.
"Phenomenal talent. Extremely proud [to work with her]," Tip said about Gaga. "She's definitely that good. She knows what she's doing. She knows exactly what she wants people to think and say. She does everything that she needs to be done to ensure it happens...We gonna go back in and record some more songs...But the one we have right now is entitled 'Lick It.' I think we both have a tendency to shock the world in a lot of different ways...[My Eminem collaboration] is in the making. It just hasn't been recorded yet. The song has been picked out and it's been agreed for us to do it. We're thinking a song that can definitely make its way to the club." (MTV)
West Coast rapper Game recently said he was interested in securing Lady Gaga for his upcoming R.E.D. Album.
"I'm trying to get [Interscope co-founder and chairman] Jimmy Iovine to throw me in the studio with Lady Gaga," he explained in an interview. "She's a rebel, and I go against the grain every day, so, if it happens, it'll be monumental for the state of music." (ABC News)
Konvict Muzik leader Akon talked about "saving" Gaga's career earlier this year.
"I think what everybody else didn't," Akon said about Gaga. "She had went through like four or five labels. When I closed my deal at Interscope, she was getting dropped that week ... they was dropping her again. I was like 'Yo, I wanna sign that right there.' Jimmy [Iovine] was like 'Yeah, whatever you want, take her. Let's get it done.' She's blossomed into a super-mega star. She's pretty much retired me. She was definitely a blessing. She came at the right moment. I'm glad I believed in her, boy. That goes to show, if you believe in something good -- it will pay off." (Associated Press)
