News: Eminem Puts Mariah Carey Beef To Rest, "I Don't Want To Keep Beating A Dead Horse"

Grammy-winning rapper Eminem has opened up about his past issues with Mariah Carey and why despite name-checking her on his latest album, Recovery, she is no longer a lyrical target.
Em believes, at this point, he no longer has anything left to say about actor/rapper Nick Cannon's wife.
"You know what? I got to be honest. I really don't want to talk about her anymore only just because it's kind of like the last thing I said about her was on 'Cold Wind Blows.' I made the comment, ['Take a look at Mariah next time I inspire you to write a song.'], I don't want to keep beating a dead horse. I'm not even going to comment about it. I'm done with that whole situation. I said what I had to say. I'm done." (VIBE)
Last summer, Em dropped his hard-hitting "The Warning" aimed at Cannon and Carey.
"Only reason I dissed you in the first place is because you denied seeing me and now I'm pissed off," Em says on the song's intro. "Sit back homie, relax, in fact grab a six pack, kick back while I kick facts/Yeah Dre sick track, perfect way to get back/Wanna hear something with wack/I got the same exact tat that's on Nick's back/I'm 'Obsessed' now/Oh geesh, that's supposed to be me in the video with the goatee, wow, Mariah, didn't expect it to go balls out/B*tch shut the f*ck up before I put all the phone calls out you made to my house when you was Wildin' Out before Nick/When you was on my d*ck/And give you something to smile about/How many times you fly to my house just on account/Better shut your lying mouth if you don't want Nick finding out/You probably think since it's been so long that if I had something on you, I woulda did it by now/Oh on the contrary Mary Poppins/I'm mixing our studio session down and sending it to mastering to make it loud/Enough dirt on you to murder you/This is what the f*ck I do/Mariah, it ever occur to you that I still have pictures/However you prefer to do and that goes for Nick too/F*ggot, you think I'm scurred of you/You gonna ruin my career, you better get one/Like I'ma sit and fight with you over some sl*t b*tch c*nt that made me put up with her psycho a** over six months/And only spread her legs to let me hit once/Yeah, whatcha gonna say, I'm lucky?/Tell the public that I was so ugly that you f*cking had to be drunk to f*ck me..." ("The Warning")
Em initially said his past diss record, "Bagpipes From Baghdad," may have been a little too touchy towards the couple.
"As a kid [I had a crush on Mariah], definitely," Em revealed in an interview last year. "With the song 'Bagpipes From Baghdad,' there's a line on there, I mean, I kinda spazed out on that record but I guess I spazzed out on every record. There's a line on there that was a little harsh, you know, it's a harsh line, it was pretty intense on the swag level but you know man, the way I look at it, I said it, I had no idea he was going to take it like he took it. I had no idea Nick Cannon was gonna start wildin' out on me. No pun intended. I heard about some of the things he was saying, I didn't read his blog or anything. It is what it is, he's supposed to defend his wife. I expected him to do that. But at the end of the day, it's a line I said, I meant to say I wish them the best. That's what I meant to say...I didn't plan on taking it [to battling], hopefully it doesn't, but you know, it is what it is." (Tim Westwood TV)
Cannon previously took to his blog in May 2009 to address Slim.
"At first I thought it was old material that had been dug up from when dude "fantasized" about having a pretend fling with Mariah," Cannon wrote via his blog. "So as I further examine the track, I hear dude cross the line. He begins to call my wife out of her name! Now as y'all know, I don't take that type of nonsense lightly. So on some grown man sh*t I'm instantly like, I got to get at this Lame...Let's not forget about Eminem's amateur mixtape rants of calling African Americans N*gger and how he hates "Black B*tches." How did we let him get away with that in the first place?! He is a natural born racist in disguise...So I'm putting this out there now. Marshall Mathers, you need to holler at me on some grown man sh*t. Man to man, let's meet up and deal with this like adults...So Miss Marshall, I'm going to make you wish you never spoke my name and regret the ungodly things you said about my wife. This is going to be fun! It's however you want it! Just remember, you did this to yourself! Your legacy has now been tainted from this day forth! You will now be known as the rapper who lost to Corny-a** Nick Cannon!!!" (Nick Cannon's Blog)
