Young Jeezy dismisses comparisons to other rappers in new cover story and he ticks off the reasons why he's in a class by himself.
For a cover story in XXL magazine, the "Snowman" burns up at rap comparisons.
I don't think nobody should compare me to anyone, 'cause, at the end of the day, you've got a 'Pac, you've got Snoop, you got Tip, you got Wayne--there's only one Jeezy, man. Ain't nobody walked in these shoes but me. My level of intelligence and know-how, and being able to adapt, and being able to live, and being able to walk, and still be the same person that I was from day one-- that sh*t ain't somethin' that's just given to you, man. So, at the end of the day, I'm not worried by far, because I wouldn't even be here right now if it wasn't for me being and thinking the way that I am. So with that being said, you can't compare nothing to that. 'Cause I'll say it again: I done been 'round the world, 'round the block. Two things a n*gga can't tell ya is that I ran off on 'em or I owe 'em anything. It's been me the whole time, bruh. F*ck the music--let's take that out of the equation. It's nothing. Let's talk about life for a minute. Look where I came from. Look where I'm at. What do you compare to that? You let me know, and then I guess we'll have a comparison." (XXL Magazine)
Despite his recent objections, Jeezy has compared his relationship with T.I. as being the new Notorious B.I.G. and Jay-Z.
"I always took this thing like me and Tip was like Big and Jay. Just in the sense of we always coexist. We really never had no issues or nothing we couldn't work out. And if it was it was just what club we meeting at. What time, you know what I'm saying? Anything he's done, I've pretty much supported him, just as well as anything I've done, he pretty much supported me. He like the cat on the other side of town who get money, too. And it's like that. You could be in the city and two n*ggas run the city, you know what I'm saying? Like, we been on a few tours together, you know, did a couple of classic records, and um, it's just one of those things. That's how I always looked at it. Like we was like Big and Jay. Pac and Snoop." (VIBE)
Prior to recently receiving a September 28th release, Jeezy's Thug Motivation 103 album was scheduled for late August.
Young Jeezy is motivated to get his album out by the end of summer. The rapper has set a new release date for his oft-delayed project. The Atlanta MC's fourth major label studio albumThug Motivation 103 is scheduled to drop on August 31, Rap-Up.com has learned. It has been delayed numerous times since last year, but looks to have finally found its footing. Two singles, "All White Everything" and the street anthem "Lose My Mind," have been sent to digital retailers and radio. (Rap-Up)
Earlier this year, Jeezy discussed what rap fans could expect to hear from the upcoming project.
"But June, by the way," he said of the LP's release date. "That's what I'm thinking. If you the boss, you can talk like that. I'm thinking June. I wanna own the summer. If you coming out [with an album] in June, you might wanna think about that, bruh. TM103, I will be there...I'm just going in, basically handling my business. I gotta say what's on my mind. But I'm not here to sell you on no album. Like I said, June, you will be surprised, homie. That's real talk. I been working on this. I been back in the lab...I got you." (MTV)
