G-Unit's Tony Yayo has publicly praised Nicki Minaj and said the Young Money artist should definitely get down with his camp.
Yayo also revealed G-Unit passed up on an opportunity to sign her years ago.
"We could of signed Nicki Minaj," Yayo revealed in an interview. "It was just [a matter of] time and opportunity. We could of signed Keyshia Cole too, I was locked up [during] that -- she does represent South Side Jamaica Queens, Nicki Minaj. She came up with a down South artist because she was managed by Waka's moms, right? I never crossed paths with her. Yeah [she should be with G-Unit], she's from South Side Jamaica Queens, h*ll yeah, she should be the with Unit. That should be her swag from South Side Jamaica Queens, a bulletproof vest on Nicki Minaj. [laughs] That'll look great." (XXL Mag)
Last month, 50 Cent gave his pubic praises on Minaj.
"I think she's hot, she's got a good little thing going on right now as far as Nicki Minaj is concerned. I think it's probably a little more irritating to see Puffy standing next to Nicki." (Power 98)
The Unit's Lloyd Banks recently compared the similarities between Minaj and Lil Kim.
"[Laughs] Sheesh. I would go with Nicki right now," he said in an interview. "Yeah, I like her as an artist. We came up in the same era, we were around the same age so I'm pretty sure one of her influences was probably Lil Kim and nothing is really reminding of the impact Kim had, since Nicki came. To have a concert and have a hundred Nickies in the front row... not too many new artists come and have a following like that. So you definitely have to acknowledge that." (VIBE)
Earlier this year, Minaj referenced 50 Cent when analyzing a few artists' bodies.
"Usher, I always liked his, you know, [body] and he's a great dancer," Nicki told rap personality Funkmaster Flex. "[laughs] Robin is a very sexy appealing man, whenever I see him, he looks like a doll. [Trey Songz has] a body to die for. If I'm being honest, I've never been into the real sexy dude, the dude that do sexy faces and stuff, I don't even like when girls do that. 50's cut. [laughs] 50's cut. 50's also, big cut. Kanye's cockyness makes him a ten. That's the same with 50 too. They're so over-the-top confident." ("Full Throttle")
