News: Swizz Beatz Sheds Light On Nicki Minaj's Debut, "She's Doing Some Amazing Things On The Choruses"

Hit producer Swizz Beatz recently confirmed his involvement in Nicki Minaj's upcoming debut album and highlighted the Young Money's song-writing ability.
Beatz says he and Minaj have respect for one another.
"There's no blockage in what we can do on the creative tip. It's a blank canvas. We respect each other. I respect her, she respects me, and she trusts my judgment. We have a lot of small conversations that end up [turning] into big musical moments. When you hear Nicki on my track, you're gonna see that 'Wow, she just went from here to there.' I'm happy to be a part of that...As far as Nicki, she's an amazing write. She wrote her own choruses, and she's doing some amazing things on the choruses. The third song, the last song [we recorded together], is the only song I did the chorus on, and she might even switch that...I'm not really trying to be on every chorus like that no more." (MTV)
Minaj recently talked about making futuristic sounds for her debut with the help of Beatz.
"He definitely expressed interest in an interview one time," Nicki told radio host Jenny Boom Boom. "I was excited because I was like, 'Swizz Beatz, I love his style.' And as a matter of fact, we got some sh*t...It's one song called 'Catch Me' that will definitely make the album and it's a masterpiece from me and Swizz. It's a little singing, a little rapping, but it's like a different vibe. It's a moody vibe. It's just dope. And the beat sounds really futuristic, but it's mellow futuristic. It puts you in this weird...like you're high type sh*t, even though I don't get high and I never have." (Jenny Boom Boom)
Writing via Twitter yesterday, Minaj announced her album release date.
Nicki Minaj is everywhere, except on her own album. But that's about to change because the breakout star's debut finally has an official release date. Young Money's First Lady will release her as-yet-untitled album during the week of Thanksgiving, known to be the busiest shopping week of the year in the U.S. "Yes. It's time. November 23rd," she told her followers on Twitter. (Rap-Up)
Minaj is the latest female emcee to top the Hip-Hop Billboard chart since Lil Kim in 2003.
'Your Love' is the first single by a female rap artist to top the Rap Songs chart in seven years, with Lil' Kim's 'Magic Stick' featuring 50 Cent serving as the last track to hold the same position back in June 2003 for five consecutive weeks. And while Kim had some male assistance, Missy Elliott is the last female artist to have a solo track top the chart with 'Work It' in November '02. (The Boom Box)
