Former G-Unit member Game has shared his reaction to the shocking weight-loss pictures of his ex-boss, 50 Cent.
From Game's perspective, 50 appears to be determined to win accolades for his movie role.
"All my boys was sending me pictures of 50 where he sucked up, looking like a smoker, lost all the weight," Game said in an interview. "They were looking for me to give them some type of funny feedback or clown with it. But all I saw was a dude that's trying to win an award for playing a cancer patient and really look like a cancer patient. I do my own assessment of character judgment. Right here in my mind, I was like, 'See? Progress!' That's what I'm on today, man. But I have the right to get in your a** if I need to." (MTV)
Fif recently said he did not envision walking home with an Academy Award for his portrayal of a cancer victim in the upcoming film, Things Fall Apart.
He said he doesn't anticipate winning awards for his acting role. "Well, you know, I haven't received accolades that comes with the success that I've had in music," he said. "It would be a surprise" to win any acting awards, he said, noting that it's already a reward to have people aware of the role. (Billboard)
50 recently said he performed background research on weight-loss from the Internet.
"Yeah, it was a lot for me to actually get there. After the second week, it was crazy. They say it takes 30 days to make a habit, but man... I was on the Internet and I was looking at Christian Bale, while The Machinist was out, he almost killed himself. I was feeling like maybe I'm overdoing it and I'm dropping 54 pounds, but I was in such a good physical state prior to me deciding to go down on the weight." (Rap-Up)
The rapper also said his discipline was inspired by a friend who experienced cancer.
"[Things Fall Apart] is about a Heisman hopeful who could possibly be going to the league and everyone is assuming he's gonna make it and then he's hit with an illness," 50 explained in an interview. "I had a friend of mine who actually experienced cancer and it's what motivated me to write this screenplay. You don't have to make everything personal, but that project was. That's why I committed to playing a role where I lost 54 pounds. I had to discipline myself enough until I achieved it but... I got it. (Cleveland News)
