Grammy-winning artists David Banner and 9th Wonder will hit up New York City tomorrow (June 29) to exclusively preview their upcoming Death of a Pop Star album.
Taking place in lower Manhattan, the event will be free and open to the public.
The magnetic duo will participate in a live Q & A on Tuesday, June 29th at the 92Y Tribeca in Manhattan. Hot 97personality Peter Rosenberg will interview both artists and take questions from the audience, similar in format to James Liptons' famous In The Actor's Studio show. (Audible Treats)
The event will be one of radio personality Peter Rosenberg's latest, offering fans a chance to ask their favorite artists intimate questions.
In the past, Rosenberg has delivered perspectives from inside the minds of rap greats like Q-Tip, Raekwon, The Roots, Talib Kweli and Gang Starr's DJ Premier through his Noisemakers series. Attendees will be treated to the first public listening of Death of a Pop Star. (Press Release)
Last year, Banner opened up about his forthcoming joint album with 9th Wonder.
"Me and 9th Wonder are really good friends, and we really got tired of people complaining about the fact that there's no good music. And we started making this album called Death of a Pop Star," Banner said in an interview last October. The album, about the death of young people's music and how it has all been reduced to downloads, was made to prove to everybody that there is still good music being made. (MTV)
Banner's last solo effort, The Greatest Story Ever Told, dropped in August 2008.
The first single from the album is called "Speaker", better known by its explicit title "9mm". It features Snoop Dogg, Lil Wayne and Akon. The track was produced by Akon. The second single is "Get Like Me", which features Chris Brown. The third single is "Shawty Say", which features Lil Wayne and samples Lollipop. The music video premiered on FNMTV on August 1, 2008.
