Rapper/Actor Artis "Coolio" Ivey reportedly had a $10,000 bench warrant dismissed after appearing in court yesterday for a probation hearing.
According to reports, the rapper made the court appearance on Tuesday (April 6).
Rapper Coolio has escaped arrest after turning up for a court hearing on Tuesday - a day after a Los Angeles judge issued a bench warrant to have him detained. However, after showing up for the hearing on Tuesday, Coolio - real name Artis Leon Ivey, Jr. - escaped further action by proving he had adhered to the terms of his probation, including a drug rehab program, according to TMZ.com. The hip-hop star is due back in court on January 18, 2011 for his next progress report. (Canoe News)

Last June, Coolio pleaded guilty to drug possession after being arrested in Los Angeles International Airport in the spring.
He pleaded guilty today to one felony count of possession of a controlled substance, cocaine. Ivey, 45, will enter an 18-month drug rehabilitation program, known as Deferred Entry of Judgment, said Deputy District Attorney Cynthia Inda. If he successfully completes the program, he can request that the judge dismiss his case at the end of 18 months. He is scheduled to return September 28 at LAX Superior Court for a progress report. The case involving Coolio was extended until June 26 in a Los Angeles court Friday. At Friday's court session, which lasted about 20 minutes, the judge told the rapper he should strongly consider a plea bargain. The rapper did not wear his Sunday best for the proceeding, clad in a multi-colored sport coat, jeans and tennis shoes, with his trademark crazy hair.
