T.I., the self-proclaimed "King of the South" has moved up the release date for his upcoming King Uncaged album.
The rapper posted a tweet about his new release date.
" sneak peak #2 of the "i'm back" video @ http://bit.ly/b6cCta - debuts monday @ 2pm EST on www.trapmuzik.com and oh yeah...the album date is pushed up 8.17.10 - King Uncaged." (T.I.'s Twitter)
The rapper recently compared his project to the late Tupac Shakur's All Eyez On Me.
T.I. is setting the bar high for his post-prison album, King Uncaged, comparing it to Tupac's 1996 classic All Eyez on Me, which was released months after 'Pac got out of prison. "This is the most significant return from incarceration that the game has had since then," T.I. says. "Just given the enormous success of that project, everyone's expecting the same results. I just want to meet the expectations, if not surpass them." (Rolling Stone)
The rapper revealed the name of his summer album last week with an August 24th release date.
T.I. is breaking free with his seventh studio album. The Atlanta rapper has announced a title for his next release. The follow-up to 2008's double-platinum Paper Trail will go by the name of King Uncaged, it was revealed today via Tip's website TrapMuzik.com. He has been recording with Jim Jonsin, B.o.B, Danja and The Runners for the August 24 release. A buzz single "I'm Back" is currently No. 65 on the Billboard Hot 100. (Rap-Up)
He did not disclose the title of the project when asked about it last month.
"I really do appreciate the support and how hard y'all was going in during the brief hiatus," T.I. said during a conference all. "The support don't go unnoticed and I don't take it lightly. This marks a special day for us, because we putting out the first song off the album, not an official first single, just something to keep the streets warm. It's properly entitled 'I'm Back.' It's a lot of things that needed to be spoken on, you know. In my absence, it was a lot of things that went down, a lot of matters that needed to be addressed and this was the greatest platform for me to do it...Album drops August 24th, title? I got one but I ain't gonna say it yet. It was the first song I did when I came home. You get me fresh out the box going in. I'm sure you guys will enjoy it...Middle of April, beginning of May. Y'all gonna start seeing me. Y'all already know, once again it's on. Like we always do this time." (Rap Radar)
