Former Aftermath artist Stat Quo has talked about recently appearing in Dr. Dre's HP Beats commercial and how he could see himself moving into television advertising.

According to Stat, Dre reached out to him to appear in the commercial.

"He said he was shooting a commercial the day before and like I didn't know it was for HP 'til I got there... They told me to sit in the booth and like literally I didn't even know what was being said," he recalled. "I just knew when that dude walked in he just looked outta place so I just threw my hands up--it was all improve, nobody told me anything... Anytime I can help Dre out with what he got going on I'm cool with that, like I don't care. And I get residuals off of it. Like, really, to keep it real with you maybe I could be like Russell Quo. I could be like the greatest commercial actor of all time. I could be doin' commercials for Burger King and McDonald's, and I'll be so ill wit it that they have to hire me to do both of 'em, that would be dope, right? Forget the movies, I'm trying to do commercials. [Laughs]." (XXL Mag)

Stat recently updated fans on the status of Dre's Detox album.

"It's whenever Dre's ready," Stat revealed in an interview. "If you want my opinion on it, I think he wants to be confident in what he has to put out as an ensemble piece. Dre is hip-hop in a sense, so hip-hop needs him to put out a great album, 'cause if he doesn't, it affects all of us -- not just what he does, but the whole culture...Dre is just all around a better artist, a better person. Whenever I need advice on anything--my personal life, business, whatever--I go and ask him...He's very important and he knows that, so he's not just gonna put out some bullsh*t. You never get that second chance to make that first impression. I think he's gonna be putting something out real soon." (Rap-Up)

West Coast rapper Glasses Malone hit up SOHH earlier this month to talk about Dre's upcoming album.

"That's a big deal man," Glasses assured SOHH. "This dude is a big deal, number one producer of hip-hop ever and possibly one of the baddest motherf*ckers to get on the microphone. That's the biggest deal, that's the biggest deal in hip-hop ever, I don't think there is a record bigger...The Detox, that sh*t's real man. That's some real sh*t going on over there. Dre just takes his time man, this is what he do. He's two for two with classics, the first Chronic and 2001 and this will probably be his last record. I'm sure he wants to go three for three. Why not? It takes time." (SOHH)

Dre recently said his new single with Jay-Z, "Under Pressure," will likely be released this month.

"Yes, hopefully we'll be releasing ['Under Pressure'] in the next two weeks or so," Dre said in an interview referring to his Jay-Z collaboration. "And I'm definitely gonna be putting the album out this year. Finally, you know, and I think everybody is gonna be happy with it. That's it right now. I'm just trying to finish thisrecord, finally get it done, get it out and start promoting it." (CNBC)
