G-Unit's Lloyd Banks has announced his intention to make a move into the book industry with an upcoming project in the works.
Without revealing its title, the "Punch Line King" said his book should be completed later this year.
"I've already started [writing my own book], yeah," Banks revealed in an interview. "And hopefully I'll be done with that by the end of the year. It's definitely something I want to look in to and not just a one time thing. It's something I want to do in the future, a lot. It's always been a gift of mine, I've been good with words and I'm actually gonna go back to my high schools again and donate again. It's not a one shot thing. The G-Unity Foundation has done a lot of thing." (Posse TV)
The LOX's Styles P is also preparing the release of his new book, Mr. Invincible.
"I never really took the time out to give it a shot, it's just something I always wanted to do. I got a love for books and reading. Actually, what happened, I was getting on the plane and I forgot my book but I wanted to read so I decided to give it a shot, did a few pages, ended up messing with Random house. Action packed mystery very climactic ending, dramatic, basically that's it. Just sometimes you got to chase your dreams or they chase you." (Hip Hop Wired)
Recently, Banks said Interscope Records was trying to re-sign him to the label.
"50 heard from them," Banks told radio personality Cosmic Kev referring to Intescope Records. "They calling right now trying to figure out how to get the boy back in the building. They have to drop the apology bag first. You can drop that bag and say, 'I'm sorry. I will never ever doubt you again.' That's just a contract to talk. So it's still not solidified. Then I might just take it and go get a little drop and something." (Cosmic Kev)
Earlier this month, Banks said his third solo project was still en route to come out this summer.
"Yeah, we're aiming for a summer release, late summer. Its not a stamp date, but that's where I'm headed for," he said in an interview. "This is my year. That's the other thing. When you are working independent, you can decide when...sometimes when you are working for a label, they put you on that time clock. Sometimes, things can get forced. We'll see in the very near future, it's a very smart option [for G-Unit to go independent.]" (All Hip Hop)
