Game recently explained replacing the original mixtape host, DJ Drama, with DJ Skee.
"I immediately called Skee, but he was in Toronto," Game said about reaching out to Skee once he and Drama amicably agreed to part ways on the project. "He got back, came in and then the tape took a turn left, man. But it's all good, man, 'cause me and Skee got history. Skee's at home right now just going in working on it to get it out to the people ASAP. So there ain't no love lost to Drama, I talk to him. He asked me if there wasn't gonna be anymore G-Unit disses on the tape and I was like, 'Not really,' but I reserve the right to do whatever I want. So it's probably best that I use Skee." (MTV)
Last week, Game said Skee was impressed with the material he recorded.
"The mixtape is like an album," Game said in an interview. "DJ Skee is hosting it and he hit me like 20 minutes ago and was like 'Wow,' and I'm like 'Wow what?' and he's like, 'The sh*t you gave me is crazy. I just finished downloading everything and am starting to water it.' He's like 'It's crazy,' and that's how mixtapes should be. I'm glad that '400 Bars' is the featured song off of there and everybody loves it because now I can follow that up with hood smashes." (Rap-Up TV)
His underground release is led by the 20-minute song, "400 Bars."
Over the wistful, soul-sampled Just Blaze beat that backed Jay Electronica's Booth-acclaimed "Exhibit C," the Left Coast heavyweight empties out his rhyme book, spitting extensively about his cars, his mic skills, his beef with G-Unit, and pretty much everything else under the sun. Though its epic length may scare off the faint of heart, this freestyle succeeds in proving that Game has lyrics for days (and days, and days). (DJ Booth)
