Young Money's Nicki Minaj tapped model Amber Rose to appear in her upcoming "Massive Attack" music video that was recently shot in California.
Nicki talked about what her following of Barbies could expect from the Hype Williams directed visual.
"I brought my BFF Amber Rose out here," Nicki said in an interview. "This is a massive attack. We shot the helicopter scene. Obviously, I had to have a hot-pink Lamborghini. We're having fun in the car, and we see a freakin' helicopter chase us. So we get on the walkie-talkie, like, 'Mayday! Mayday!' It's really fashion and beauty shots, and we're acting like we're doing something important...You can expect it to be almost like the soundtrack to a movie. It's gonna take you somewhere that ... it's kinda gonna tell a story. I didn't just want to make an album that had a club record, just the obvious. I wanted to paint a very graphic picture. And every record that I'm doing for the album, I can see the stage show, I can see the video. It's just gonna be big. You can expect it to be big." (MTV)
Earlier this month, the rapper revealed details surrounding the song's creation.
"The first single is called 'Massive Attack.' Sean Garrett produced that," she revealed in an interview. "It'll be out very soon. I don't have an exact date, but it will drop right on time...We're actually shooting the video within a week. I can't wait for you guys to see it." (Rap-Up)
Last December, Minaj said she was aiming to drop a "classic" debut.
"The [album], that's what I'm actually getting ready to work on because I've been on the road for such a long time, I'm taking a complete hiatus for the next couple months, unfortunately, for all the promoters giving crazy offers," Minaj told DJ Whoo Kid. "And I've been turning every one because I have to put my foot down for the next few months and deliver a classic album and I already have stuff and I can't wait for the world to hear. All the stuff we talk about is fun and games and all that but the music is what's most important and I don't want all the people to be distracted by the other stuff and so I'm gonna take a break and when I come back you guys will have some very, very great music." Minaj hinted at her hard work ethic in an interview late last year.
"Well Trina is also doing her thing," Nicki said in an interview. "To answer whether I feel pressure, of course I do and I'm a perfectionist and I want that to be, you know, I want this buzz to meet everybody's expectations, surpass everybody's expectations of the people that do support me. Because you got so many people that don't support you, but to the ones that do, they look at me and they see big things and I don't want to disappoint them. So to say I don't have pressure, I'd be lying, I do. I feel it all the time, I feel like yo, I have to make this a masterpiece." ("On-Air Idiot Show")
