"Flavor of Love" reality star Nicole "Hotlanta" Essigmann has clarified recent reports which claim she was arrested on an assault and child cruelty charge last last month.

According to Hotlanta, she attacked her son's father after he allegedly became physical with her mother.

Essigmann tells TMZ that she never laid a hand on her 4 year-old son. The whole incident was because her baby daddy -- a guy named Jerry Robinson -- got her mother in a headlock. According to Nicole, she was going with her mom -- Jill Essigmann -- to pick up her son from Robinson's home. When her mom went in to get the child, Nicole claims there was some kind of physical altercation and Robinson emerged with her mother in a headlock. "I did what I had to do ... Anybody in my shoes would have done the same thing if they saw their mom in a headlock. I laid the smackdown." According to Nicole, the reason for the child abuse charge is because her son witnessed the violent incident. (TMZ)

Details on the incident landed online last Friday (February 19).

Hotlanta -- aka 29-year-old Nicole Essigmann -- was arrested in Cobb County on January 30th on two counts of simple battery and one count of cruelty to children. Essigmann -- listed at 5'4" and 130 lbs -- was in custody for one day before a company called "Bond James Bond" helped her front the $2,500 bond. (TMZ)

Additional reports suggest she was taken-in by police at her home.

The 29 year-old Marietta woman, who is also known as Nicole Jamz and Nikky Jamz, was arrested at her apartment, according to Cobb County Sheriff's Office records. She was released on $2,500 bond after spending about six hours in jail. Details surrounding her arrest have not been released. (Access Atlanta)
