Producer Swizz Beatz has announced that he will make his foray into the movie industry by handling the sound for a forthcoming film.
From Swizz's perspective, the film is going to have an impact on people's lives.
"I'm working on scoring a movie bigger than 'Avatar,' he said. "It's life-changing to the world. The message is life-changing. The concept is life-changing. The sound is gonna be life-changing. This is another thing that put me in a zone to step my whole game up. I can't be involved in these major projects with a sound that's not justifying why I'm on those projects. It's forcing me to take everything to the next level. Even though my mind was already there, God just blessed me with a gift to go with that. It's like training in the gym. You're training for a fight or you're training to be in shape. There's a goal in why you're training. Musically, while I'm training myself, I have goals. My goal is to make the sound for this movie as big as the movie." (MTV)
Fellow producer Pharrell Williams recently signed on to score the upcoming 3-D comedy, Despicable Me.
Singer, songwriter, producer Pharrell Williams will write original music for Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment's upcoming 3D CGI feature "Despicable Me" starring Steve Carrell, Jason Segel, Russell Brand, Danny McBridge, Julie Andrews and more. In addition to the film's title track, which debuted with the feature's teaser trailer, Williams has already begun to write the film's orchestral score as well. It marks the first time the artist will compose music for a film. (Eur Web News)
Last month, Swizz said he also wanted to take a new, refreshing approach to his next solo effort.
"MY NEW ALBUM IS GOING TO BE OUT OF THIS WORLD 2010STYLE IM MIXING INDIAN MUSIC WITH ARABIC SOUNDS MEETS BDP! YOU WILL SEE.NEW SOUND TIME!," he wrote on Twitter Monday (January 4) morning. "IM GIVING 30% OF THE $ MADE ON MY ALBUM TO ART & MUSIC SCHOOLS IN NEED SO WE CAN KEEP THE KIDS DOING POSITIVE THINGS WITH THERE LIFE ! ALSO FOR MY ALBUM IM GETTING NEW TALENT FROM AROUND THE WORLD TO BE APART OF THIS NOT JUST THE SAME OLD PEOPLE YOU HEAR 500 TIMES A WEEK! The upcoming solo project would be his latest since 2007.
It wasn't until his first solo album, 2002's G.H.E.T.T.O. Stories, that he started to get notices for his production style and interesting ideas. The next five years would find him landing hit after hit and becoming more in demand with each production. In 2007 he released the infectious single "It's Me Snitches" to promote the coming full-length One Man Band Man. (All Music)
