Young Money's Nicki Minaj has followed in the footsteps of Drake and landed her first Fader Magazine cover where she speaks on having a bipolar personality and explains her obsession with signing women's breasts.
In the February/March issue, which hits news stands next week, the rapper also opens up about her personality spilling into her lyrics.
"Anybody that knows me knows that I have a very, very bipolar personality, so one minute I'm excited and the next minute I'm crying and the next minute I'm cussing and yelling and the next minute I'm singing Enya," Nicki told Fader writer Julianne Escobedo Shepherd. "I'm not kidding. And the point is, my rap style now reflects my true personality. Because I am so weird...I wish I could fricking remember the first boob that I signed. I don't know why I did it, but now I can't go anywhere and not do it. People come up to me wherever I am, girls, sexy girls, like, 'Can you sign my boob?' I mean, n*ggas in the club look at me like I'm a pimp. They like, Whaaat? Cause they be fly chicks. I don't know, but I do know it's a great thing." (The Fader)
Nicki recently spoke on Jay-Z giving her his approval.
"I was like, 'What?' " Minaj said about Jigga claiming she has "charm." "Obviously, Jay-Z ... Jay-Z is a person in hip-hop that you almost don't think he exist until you meet him. It's almost like he's bigger than a person. He's a mythical figure. That's a great way to describe it. I was like, 'Jay-Z knows me?' I didn't think he knew who I was, let alone recommend me for something. If he did know who I was, I didn't know if he liked my style or approved. It was weird. It was like getting that stamp of approval from the most popular jock in high school and being a freshman in high school and thinking no one knows you exist." (MTV)
Hov nemesis Game also co-signed Minaj recently and added her to his upcoming R.E.D. Album.
"Nicki Minaj made the R.E.D. album. gone be CLASSIC," Game wrote Monday (December 14) night. "RT @THEREALCAWB: @ihategame stop f*cking ignoring my tweets if you keep niki on the album im not buying and i bought all your albums you ... @THEREALCAWB well don't buy it then f*ggot !!! no dis-respect to y'all gay folks but this n*gga might be mo h*mo than y'all." Last year, Drake made his Fader Magazine debut and spoke on his initial Universal Motown concerns.
"I went through Universal Republic because I don't f*ck with Motown," he explained to the magazine. "At all." Drake has spoken out about his personal beef with Sylvia Rhone the president of Motown Records and the executive vice president of Universal Records -- the parent label to mentor Lil Wayne's Young Money imprint - on record before. On 'Say What's Real,' a track from his critically-acclaimed mixtape So Far Gone he spit: "I've always been something that these labels can't buy/especially if they trying to take a piece of my soul/and Sylvia be telling Tez/D*mn, Drake fly/and he just be like, 'silly motherf*cka I know'" (The Fader)
